Comic-book fans, cosplayers and tabletop gamers are converging on Catonsville this Saturday as Stellar Con sets up shop at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena on the UMBC campus. The one-day convention runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and promises a packed schedule of cosplay contests, gaming tournaments and a hall full of artists and collectibles for fans of comics, anime and pop culture.
According to WBFF, the convention includes a full day of cosplay, gaming and special guest appearances, with organizers aiming to deliver convention-level excitement in a setting intimate enough for attendees to actually meet the fans and creators around them. The station reports general admission runs $25 in advance or $35 on the day of the event, while VIP ticket holders get a jump on the crowds with entry starting at 10 a.m., a full hour before doors open to everyone else.
What’s Inside the Hall
Stellar Con’s own event page describes a hall full of artists, creators, writers, toys, games, collectibles and what organizers call assorted nerdy treasures, according to Stellar Con. The same listing points to epic cosplay contests on the main stage and Magic: The Gathering tournaments as centerpiece draws for the day. Organizers are also pushing advance ticket incentives, including a stated per-ticket discount and a group deal offering five tickets for the price of four, though the organizer’s page does not spell out full terms or current availability for those offers.
Would-be attendees should also note that the organizer’s site states plainly that all convention ticket purchases are non-refundable and that the guest lineup is subject to change. The event is also listed on Eventbrite, which identifies the date and venue as Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Chesapeake Employer’s Insurance Arena.
Getting There and Parking
For anyone driving in, UMBC Parking Services says parking for arena events is available in the Stadium Lot and Lot 24, and that campus permits are not needed in those lots during arena events. The same page notes that preferred parking may be purchased in advance for select events, and will otherwise be available for purchase on event day on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Local Stage for Pop Culture Fans
With cosplay contests, Magic: The Gathering duels and an artist alley all under one roof, Stellar Con is positioning itself as a hometown alternative to the region’s larger comic conventions, giving Catonsville-area fans a chance to browse collectibles and catch gaming tournaments without leaving the UMBC campus. Doors open at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the full slate of programming running through 5 p.m.
