TL;DR: SteelSeries’ $259.99 Aeon Pro is a premium PC/Xbox controller with a QuickSwitch dock and OLED for seamless device switching, hot‑swappable dual batteries, Hall Effect thumbsticks, programmable back buttons, mechanical switches, customizable triggers, and USB‑C, Bluetooth, and low‑latency wireless connectivity.

As far as premium controllers go, the new SteelSeries Aeon Pro is certainly up there in terms of features, design, and innovation. On the latter, the SteelSeries Aeon Pro borrows a page from its premium audio solutions, like the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni wireless headset we recently reviewed, with its black-and-white OLED display, dock, and QuickSwitch System.

Connecting your PC and Xbox console to the dock lets you seamlessly switch between both gaming devices directly from the controller, with the integrated display making the process intuitive. And with the SteelSeries Aeon Pro’s hot-swappable battery design, with two batteries included so one is always ready to go on the dock, you’ll basically never run out of wireless juice while gaming.

As for the controller, SteelSeries calls it a “luxury” design, and it ticks the right boxes for a premium, pro-grade controller. It features Hall Effect thumbsticks with contactless sensors and replaceable caps for convex, concave, or standard grips. The triggers are customizable; it’s got programmable back buttons, and each button uses a mechanical switch for snappy response and reliability.

The integrated OLED display can also switch between profiles and remap the controller on-the-fly, and it integrates with SteelSeries GG Software on PC for deeper customization. Available in black or white, the form factor also features wraparound grips for comfort and ergonomics, with low-latency wireless, Bluetooth, and wired over USB-C connectivity options.

How does the Aeon Pro QuickSwitch dock handle switching between PC and Xbox?

What customization options does the OLED display offer on the Aeon Pro?

Can the Aeon Pro be remapped or profiled through SteelSeries GG on PC?

What comes included in the $259.99 Aeon Pro box besides the controller?

Add everything up, and it’s an impressive design, but a costly one. The SteelSeries Aeon Pro retails for $259.99 USD, making it one of the most expensive controller options for PC and Xbox gamers currently available. Naturally, a chunk of the cost comes from the premium dock and OLED display, but it’s still quite expensive for a controller.
