    Star Trek cosplayers’ must

Nov. 2, 2015 – CBS Television Studios announced today it will launch a totally new “Star Trek” television series in January 2017. The brand-new “Star Trek” will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966. The new series will blast off with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network. The premiere episode and all subsequent

Star Trek’s 60th anniversary celebration in Las Veags has come and gone, but many devoted fans in attendance showed off their cosplaying creativity with an array of delightful nods to virtually each one of the franchise’s series. However, the Nacelle toy company’s team was also on hand with a life-size replica of their action figures’ display cases which ultimately captured some of ST-LV: Trek to Vegas’ most memorable costumes.

Check out 20 of the most unforgettable Star Trek cosplay images below, courtesy of Nacelle’s official Instagram account, which includes everything from The Original Series’ Harry Mudd to The Next Generation’s Borg, and even — let’s hear it in William Shatner’s voice — “Khan!!!”

There was so much creativity from the Star Trek fandom, but I was absolutely blown away by a couple of these ST-LV cosplayers. First, my absolute favorite was the Captain Kirk and Shahna costumes, complete with their collars of obedience from the TOS episode “The Gamesters of Triskelion.”

My own silver medal goes to the Mr. Spock cosplayer who showed off the USS Enterprise first officer’s green costume from The Original Series episode “Spock’s Brain.” If you look closely at that image, the remote keypad used to control Spock’s movements has even been inserted into the accessories section of Nacelle’s life-size toy box display.

Last, but not least, the bronze goes to the Star Trek cosplayer who brilliantly pulled off Captain Spock from The Voyage Home feature film complete with his own oceanic accessory: one of the humpback whales from the must-see movie. Although, I can’t tell if it’s George or Gracie.

ST-LV always provides Trekkies, Trekkers, and newcomers a “fan-tastic” venue in which to celebrate all things Star Trek, but there was a special buzz in the air surrounding this year’s annual event with the franchise’s 60th anniversary celebration right around the corner. And the cosplaying creativity was out of this world in 2026. Now, which was your favorite costume(s)?

Were you able to attend ST-LV this year to commemorate 60 years of boldly going where no fandom has gone before? If you did and dressed up for the occasion, the Redshirts Always Die team would love to see your cosplays. Please share them with us on our official Facebook and X pages. And I hope everyone enjoyed this year’s Trek to Vegas.

    Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
