The cancellation of Spider-Noir has raised questions about what could come next for the live-action Spider-Man television plans. With another project reportedly being developed around one of Marvel’s most complicated Spider-Man storylines, attention has turned to whether Nicolas Cage could return as Ben Reilly.
Spider-Noir was canceled by Prime Video after one season, with Cage playing Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator and superhero in an alternate 1930s New York. The <a href="https://comicvibe.com/al-wild-card-series-game-1-cam-schlittler-vs-payton-tolle/” title=”AL Wild Card Series Game 1: Cam Schlittler vs. Payton Tolle”>series was the first Marvel-related project produced under the partnership between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
That version of Ben Reilly is very different from his comic-book counterpart. In Marvel Comics, Ben is a genetic clone of Peter Parker created by the Jackal, who eventually becomes the Scarlet Spider. The character was central to the 1990s Clone Saga, which explored Peter’s identity and the question of which Spider-Man was the original.
After @DiscussingFilm on X reported that a live-action Clone Saga TV series was in the works, social media fans jumped in with their reactions.

What else do we know about the Spider-Man Clone Saga TV show?
Cage’s Spider-Noir character uses the Ben Reilly name but has a completely different background. The series presents him as an older private investigator operating in 1930s New York, rather than Peter Parker’s clone.
Showrunner Oren Uziel explained that the production wanted a more experienced and world-weary version of the character, which influenced the decision to use the Ben Reilly identity.
The reported Clone Saga project would provide a separate opportunity to adapt the comic-book version of Ben Reilly, potentially alongside Kaine Parker, another clone created from Peter’s DNA.
However, reports about a Clone Saga television series and Cage’s potential involvement have not been confirmed by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, or Marvel. The confirmed development is that Sony and Amazon intend to continue their partnership on additional Marvel-related television projects following Spider-Noir.
