Spider-Man fans have a new landmark to see in Queens as Peter Parker’s comic book home comes to life in New York City

Spider-Man fans have a new landmark to see in Queens as Peter Parker’s comic book home comes to life in New York City. Ingram Street in Forest Hills, Queens, has now been renamed Spider-Man Way, an homage to Marvel’s iconic superhero. Comic book fans will be able to make the connection to Parker’s fictional home address at 20 Ingram Street.

As the street’s new name was unveiled on October 12, 2026. Several news outlets released videos covering the events, featuring interviews with the residents of the street. The event was attended by fans, elected officials, and even Marvel Comics representatives

Jack Shi, who currently lives at the address associated with the superhero, revealed he has been receiving fan mail and letters of gratitude from Spider-Man fans for many years. Sam Berger, a Queens Assembly member, told ABC7, “For decades, Spider-Man has been synonymous with Queens and Forest Hills in particular. We want to be the heroes we see swinging into action.”

The story behind the street and its connection to Spider-Man

Spider-Man’s home address was first revealed in 1989’s The Amazing Spider-Man #316 and #317. Smithsonian Magazine reported that a real-life family with the last name Parker lived at that exact address. The superhero’s address wasn’t revealed by his creator, Stan Lee. Theibute it to David Michelinie, the writer of The Amazing Spider-Man comics at the time

Marvel Comics editor Nick Lowe and Mark ‘Zen’ Ditko, nephew of Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko, also attended the co-naming ceremony. “The DNA of Joe Simon, Jack Kirby and Ditko collided, and Spider-Man was born; I have to believe that no one would imagine what he would eventually become,” Ditko said.

Peter Parker is expected to return to the big screen following this year’s blockbuster film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Miles Morales, another popular character who took on the mantle, is set to return in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, scheduled for release in 2027.
