Sophie Cunningham is hoping to continue her basketball career in 2027 and beyond. However, if she doesn’t land a good contract in WNBA free agency, she’ll likely have other options, particularly in media.
The 30-year-old Indiana Fever guard has millions of followers on social media. Her mark of 4.3 million followers on Instagram is bigger than anyone else in the league right now. Cunningha, who played collegiately at Missouri, hosts a podcast, “No Hesitation,” and she’s made various TV appearances, too.
But Cunningham could be a goldmine for reality TV shows.
A lot of Bravo shows, like “Summer House” or the “Real Housewives” franchise, would gladly welcome Cunningham into the mix. Meanwhile, other shows like “Traitors” would be desperate to land her, too.
More mainstream reality TV shows, like ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” have apparently tried to land her. However, Cunningham disappointed fans, having to reject the offer, due to scheduling concerns.

Cunningham said on the latest episode of her “No Hesitation” podcast with trainer Drew Hanlen that she’s been approached by “Dancing With the Stars” to join the show. The WNBA schedule, though, makes it tough. She’s had to reject the offer.
“Dude, I think I’d kill it, I say that,” Cunningham said on the podcast, beginning at the 1:01 mark. “But it’s really hard. I’m good with my TikTok dances, but this is like legit dancing. But I grew up dancing. I loved it.”
Cunningham has been offered in recent years, but she hasn’t been able to do it.
“They’ve been trying to get me on for the last couple of years,” Cunningham said. “But because I think they start filming in September, and it’s just not doable. So it kind of sucks.”
Cunningham speaks out on Indiana Fever changes
The Fever parted ways with Team President Kelly Krauskopf and General Manager Amber Cox on Friday.
“There was not a lot of warning, and that’s okay. I think that’s probably a good thing, that you kind of keep it in-house a little bit,” Cunningham said, per the Yahoo Sports TikTok account.
“But you know what, Kelly and Amber, they’re phenomenal, phenomenal people. They cared a lot about us, as individuals and as players outside the court. And so I have nothing but great things to say about them. Hoping the Fever come in and bring people who can do a really good job for that program,” Cunningham continued.
“I was blessed to be under Kelly and Amber, and I hope them the very best. And so we’ll see what happens,” she added.
It’s shaping up to be an interesting offseason in Indiana.
