NEW YORK, Oct. 12, <a href="https://comicvibe.com/huss-valley-codes-october-2026/” title=”Huss Valley codes (October 2026)”>2026 (Gephardt Daily) — “Saturday Night Live” writers reached nearly 3,000 miles to the west over the weekend for a comedy sketch lifted from Utah’s recent headlines.
In Saturday’s “Weekend Update” sketch, actor James Austin Johnson, who also portrays Donald Trump on the show, portrayed Canadian businessman Kevin O’Leary.
O’Leary is famous in Utah for his proposed Stratos Project data center, proposed for Box Elder County. It’s a center that has been strongly opposed by many vocal residents.
In the comedy sketch, the fake O’Leary chats with fake journalist Colin Jost and says he is in favor of the Box Elder County facility because it is going to make him a lot of money and because he knows nobody here and doesn’t care what happens to Utah.
“These things are terrible and shouldn’t be anywhere. That’s why I’m building one in Utah,” he said.
“Look, yes, I made the mildly inflammatory claim that every single person in Utah who opposes me is a paid communist super agent from China,” the actor said.
“Was I wrong? Perhaps. But just because they’re not, doesn’t mean they aren’t,” the sketch actor said.
“I’m going to make the future go away,” the parody actor said. “And we’re doing just that in Utah.”
