Record-Setting Performances at the Olympic Games
The primary arena where the world watches Biles is the Olympic stage. Across multiple Summer Games, including Rio, Tokyo, and Paris, she established herself as an unmatched force in gymnastics. Her routines feature original skills officially named in her honor across vault, floor exercise, and balance beam in the international scoring code.
Her Olympic appearances also created conversations far outside competitive gymnastics. In Tokyo, her choice to prioritize personal well-being reshaped global discussions around elite athletic pressure. Returning to top form for the Paris Games, Biles led the U.S. women’s gymnastics squad back to the top of the team standings while securing additional individual gold medals.
Headlining the Gold Over America Tour
Beyond traditional sports tournaments, Biles created a platform to showcase gymnastics through an entertainment spectacle: the Gold Over America Tour. The high-energy arena show brings elite gymnasts to major cities across the United States, blending athletic precision with pop concert production, dance routines, and inspirational storytelling.
The tour offers fans a different view of gymnastics, removing strict scoring panels and pressure in favor of performance and celebration. During her chat with Young Hollywood while preparing for the tour, Biles talked about the details that keep her grounded on the road, including personal tributes to her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens.
“Well, we were going to bring a tattoo artist out, but this one was mainly a surprise for my husband and he really loved,” Biles said regarding her subtle ink. “He actually has a big S on his ring finger so when he’s not wearing his ring plane, I’m still there with him.”
Viral Social Media and Backstage Olympic Content
During major international events, Biles has become a dominant presence on short-form video platforms. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, her team’s candid TikTok clips from the athletes’ village and preparation halls offered viewers an unfiltered look at elite gymnastics life.
These videos reached millions of viewers who might never tune into a four-hour gymnastics broadcast. From trading Olympic pins to lighthearted backstage dances with teammates, her social media posts showcase a relatable personality alongside world-class athletic discipline.
Gala Red Carpets and Major Broadcast Events
Biles frequently steps outside sports arenas into major entertainment settings. She has appeared on prominent red carpets ranging from the Met Gala to national awards ceremonies, consistently making statements with custom designer fashion.
Her mainstream visibility also includes national advertising campaigns, television specials, and documentary features that detail the training regimens behind her signature difficulty. Whether performing high-flying tumbling passes or attending high-profile fashion events, Biles continues to command attention across sports and mainstream entertainment.
