Sigma is now running in theatres
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay made his directorial debut with Sigma, which was released in theatres in October. The film has received a modest reception at the Indian box office following its Friday theatrical release.
According to trade reports, Sigma earned Rs 2.35 crore net in India across 1,813 shows on day 1. The film collected Rs 2.70 crore gross in India on Saturday.
As the weekend gets going, the film will aim to draw in more viewers and increase its box office earnings.
Arriving in Tamil and Telugu, this highly awaited action-comedy heist thriller serves as the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, the son of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay.
Tamil Nadu contributed the largest portion with Rs 1.30 crore, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana followed at Rs 1 crore. Karnataka brought in Rs 25 lakh, Kerala added Rs 12 lakh, and the remaining parts of India contributed Rs 3 lakh.
Directed by Jason Sanjay, Sigma follows a rogue treasure hunter who breaks every rule in pursuit of the ultimate score, navigating deadly traps and double-crosses with wit and audacity in this adrenaline-fueled adventure.
Sundeep Kishan portrays Guru, while Faria Abdullah plays Sam, his close friend and companion in the heist. Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Sheela Rajkumar, Magalakshmi Sudarsanan, Rockstar Kamalesh and Kiran Konda also play key roles in the film.
The recently released film is penned by Ajaiy Ashok, Kaleel Raja and Jason Sanjay. A. Subaskaran produced the film under the Lyca Productions banner. S. Thaman handled the music composition, and Krishnan Vasant served as the cinematographer.
