Shueisha has launched Manga Million, a new free digital manga platform that offers more than one million pages of manga translated into over 100 languages, including several Indian languages. Unlike MANGA Plus, which focuses on simulpubs and selected titles, Manga Million is built around making a vast library of manga accessible to readers around the world in their native languages.

Indian language support includes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Sindhi, Konkani, Dogri, Bhojpuri, Marathi, Maithili, Sanskrit, Assamese, Punjabi, Gujarati, Odia, and Meitei.

The platform features manga from across Shueisha’s catalogue, including One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kingdom, Oshi no Ko, SPY x FAMILY, Chainsaw Man, NANA, Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You, and many more.

“One of a publisher’s most important responsibilities is to connect creative talent with the public,” said Hideaki Hayashi, President and Representative Director of Shueisha.

“Japanese manga has flourished through the passionate artistry of countless manga creators and the unwavering support of readers, growing into a cultural phenomenon embraced across borders around the world. MANGA MILLION was made possible through the incredible cooperation of these creators, and as we mark Shueisha’s 100th anniversary, we hope it will create new connections with readers worldwide, provide opportunities to experience the richness and diversity of manga culture, and inspire future generations of manga creators.”

According to Shueisha, Manga Million is the result of a company-wide collaboration involving its shonen, shojo, seinen, and other manga divisions. The publisher also worked with international licensing partners to translate the collection, calling it one of the largest projects in the company’s history.

Shuhei Hosono, Editor-in-Chief of MANGA Plus by Shueisha and the project’s initiator, said the idea started with a simple goal.

“The project began with a simple question: what if we marked Shueisha’s 100th anniversary by translating one million pages of manga into 100 languages? As we developed the concept, we also saw it as a way to address the language barriers that still prevent many readers around the world from accessing manga. We hope that MANGA MILLION, an unprecedented translation initiative spanning 100 languages and one million pages, will spark new discoveries and connections between readers and Japanese manga.”

You can now begin reading manga on the Manga Million platform.
