San Diego Comic-Con 2026: Our Favorite Moments (and How to Travel Connected With Ubigi)

San Diego Comic-Con 2026 has come and gone, and what a show it was. We were on the floor all weekend, phone in hand, chasing down every reveal, every trailer, and every jaw-dropping cosplay so you wouldn’t miss a thing. Here are the moments that stuck with us, plus a little trick to live this kind of adventure anywhere on the planet.

For four days straight, downtown San Diego turned into the center of the pop culture universe: endless lines outside the legendary Hall H, announcements by the truckload, and stars around every corner. We couldn’t catch it all, but we kept the receipts. If you want the play-by-play, our live blog tracked the chaos in real time, and our Day 3 cosplay gallery is proof the fans brought their A game. Now, the highlight reel.

    Marvel owned Hall H (again)

Let’s not bury the lede: Marvel ran the show. Kevin Feige came loaded, and the studio dropped even more Avengers: Doomsday footage on a Hall H crowd that completely lost it. Want the full rundown? We rounded up everything Marvel Studios announced in Hall H in one place. The biggest curveball of all? Ryan Gosling is joining the MCU as Ghost Rider, and yes, it is as wild as it sounds. Marvel also confirmed that Black Panther III will hand the mantle to T’Challa’s son, setting up the next chapter of Wakanda in style.

DC, Apple TV, and plenty more to geek out over

Marvel didn’t have the weekend all to itself. DC turned heads with its Lanterns experience, a 30-minute activation fans are still raving about. Apple TV crashed the party too, surprising the crowd with the first Neuromancer teaser and finally bringing William Gibson’s cyberpunk classic to life. And in one of the coolest stories of the con, Guillermo del Toro revealed he’s converting Pan’s Labyrinth to 3D without a shred of AI. There really was something for every fandom.

Want to live it for yourself? Stay connected anywhere with Ubigi

Reading all this and feeling a little jealous? We get it. So what if you packed your bags and went to see pop culture where it actually lives? Take Japan, for example: the promised land of manga, video games, and massive conventions that every geek dreams about. It’s a dream trip, sure, as long as you’re not cut off from the world the second you step off the plane.

Thinking about visiting Japan? Or maybe you’ve already got a trip planned? When it comes to staying connected, there’s no need to overcomplicate things. With Ubigi, a single eSIM works in over 200 destinations, and your data plan activates automatically as soon as you arrive. That’s exactly where the Ubigi eSIM comes in. The setup is almost too easy: before you leave, you scan a QR code from your couch and the eSIM installs on your phone in seconds. When you land, your data kicks in on its own, your regular line stays active for calls and texts, and you’re online before you even grab your bags. It’s all prepaid, with no nasty roaming surprises when you get home, and it covers more than 200 destinations worldwide, Japan included. And right now, enjoy 10% off your first purchase with our code GIZMODO !

Bottom line: whether you’re wandering a convention hall in Tokyo, hunting exclusives at a con in London, or simply enjoying a vacation far from home, you stay in the loop. Photos sent on the spot, maps checked on the fly, stories posted without ever watching a data counter: the connection keeps up, and all you have to do is enjoy the ride. Time to go live your own Comic-Con, wherever it happens to be.
