An April 2027 premiere window for Romelia War Chroniclepart 2 anime, and Hiro Shimono as the artist performing its ending theme, were announced this week.
However, much about the second cour remains unannounced: no exact premiere date, no timeslot or station lineup for the second cour, no song title, no new trailer or key visual, no confirmed simulcast, no comment from author Ryō Ariyama, and no hint of anime-original content.
Romelia War Chronicle Part 2 anime announces April 2027 debut and Hiro Shimono’s music
The announcement was made alongside Romelia War Chronicle episode 5 broadcast. The first cour is speculated to finish its run in December 2026. Hiro Shimono, who’s known for playing Zenitsu in Demon Slayer and Dabi in My Hero Academia, will take over as the ending theme song artist from the second cour.
Romelia War ChroniclePart 1 began streaming in Japan on October 3, 2026. The anime is directed by Hiroshi Shirai and Koji Saito, and animated by Studio Atra. Chogakusei sang the opening “Akatsuki ni Naru,” and Kohta Yamamoto sang the ending “Nightfall feat. Maika Loubté”.
The existing cast is Yuna Nemoto (Romelia von Graham), Jin Ogasawara (Al), Tomohiro Ōno (Ray), Yūya Hirose (Henri), Sayaka Senbongi (Elisabeth), Mariya Ise (Ekaterina), Asaka (Ryoki), Shōya Chiba (Gran), Gakuto Kajiwara (Ragn), Shun Horie (Kyle), and Ryūnosuke Watanuki (Otto).
Romelia War Chronicle synopsis and what to expect
The anime adapts Ryō Ariyama’s Romelia Senki: Maō o Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabasō Dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita, which began on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2019 and appears in print from Shogakukan’s Gagaga Books imprint with illustrations by Kodama. A manga adaptation has run on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi since January 2022 and is licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. According to Seven Seas, the synopsis goes thus:
“After journeying alongside her fiancé on his quest to defeat the Demon King, Romelia is suddenly deemed useless and sent home, her engagement annulled. While the prince and his group return as celebrated heroes, Rome goes home as a disgrace. But she’s not the same girl who left her province.
While following the adventurers, Rome was the only one without magic or strength but she found her own abilities in trade, negotiation, finances, and gathering information. And now, she plans to use these skills to not only help her family’s province, but help the still struggling kingdom. The Demon King may be defeated, but his allies and demons continue to roam. With only her wits and brilliance, Rome will build an army of her own and keep the kingdom safe—no matter what it takes.”
Romelia War Chronicle is speculated to be planned for 24 episodes across two cours. If the first cour runs 12 episodes, it would finish around Monday, December 21, 2026. The aforementioned second cour will run from April 2027 and should end in late June, carrying the adaptation through the complete
