Kadokawa unveils a teaser visual, staff, and lead cast for the music-driven romance manga’s television adaptation.

KADOKAWA confirmed on Wednesday that Aguri Uma’s romance manga Studio Cabanais getting a TV anime adaptation scheduled for 2027. The anime’s official website released a teaser visual, staff list, and lead voice actor alongside the announcement.
The announcement was accompanied by the anime’s first teaser visual carrying the tagline, “If that’s not love, tell me what it is.” It introduces the emotional tone of the coming-of-age romance while positioning the adaptation among the growing wave of romance manga.
The adaptation is based on Aguri Uma’s manga, serialized on KADOKAWA’sSylph web comic platform. The series has built a strong following among younger readers, particularly on TikTok, and has surpassed 500K copies in circulation. Studio Cabanahas eight volumes in circulation, with the ninth volume scheduled to be released in Japan on Aug 21.
What is Studio Cabana about?
Studio Cabanamangafollows high school students Yukari Maki and Yusuke Kusaka. Maki is portrayed as a straightforward student, which leads her to become the only classmate willing to confront Yusuke about skating inside school.
Her perception of him changes after she secretly follows him into a music studio named Studio Cabana, where she discovers his hidden side as a singer. What begins as curiosity gradually develops into an emotional youth romance centered on music, personal vulnerability, and first love.
Studio Cabana Anime Production Team and Voice Cast
As per the announcement, Studio JUVENAGE is animating Studio Cabana under director Shin’ichirō Ushijima. Sawako Hirabayashi is handling series composition, and Haruka Sagawa, known for Call of the Night and Re:Zero seasons 3 and 4, is handling character designing.
Sayumi Suzushiro stars as protagonist Yukari Maki, reprising a role she first played in a 2022 promotional video for the manga. The staff has not yet cast Yusuke Kusaka, though a character visual was released alongside the announcement.
To commemorate the Studio Cabana anime announcement, the official website launched two promotional campaigns. The first is an X follow-and-repost campaign, where five winners will receive a limited-edition visual postcard featuring the teaser illustration. Entries are open until Aug 2, 2026.
Separately, bookstores across Japan are hosting a free manga giveaway campaign, offering Studio Cabana manga’s Vol. 1 for free. The campaign will run till August 20, and more details are available on the website.
