Roblox (RBLX) is back in focus after its latest quarterly report, which showed second quarter sales of US$1.469b and a net loss of US$183m, compared with US$1.081b and US$278m a year earlier.

The latest report seems to have shifted sentiment only slightly, with Roblox’s 1 day share price return of 4.86% and 7 day share price return of 3.05% coming after a 30 day share price decline of 31.73% and a year to date share price decline of 53.32%. Over a longer horizon, the 1 year total shareholder return has declined 71.10%, while the 3 year total shareholder return is positive at 23.74%, which hints that recent momentum has faded compared with earlier years.

If Roblox’s recent swings have you rethinking your watchlist, this could be a good moment to look at other growth stories through the lens of 71 profitable AI stocks that aren’t just burning cash.

After such a steep pullback alongside rising sales and a smaller loss, Roblox now sits at a very different entry point. Do the current numbers still justify taking on the risks at this price?

    Most Popular Narrative: 75.9% Overvalued

Roblox last closed at $37.79, while the most followed narrative assigns a fair value of $21.48, which implies a large valuation gap to the downside.

A realistic case is not $95. It is probably closer to $55 to $70, with the real center of gravity around $60 to $65.

The stock can work from here, but the investment case should be built around FCF growth and dilution control, not a heroic 139x P/E on 2029 earnings.

This narrative focuses primarily on projected revenue growth, a stepwise margin path and free cash flow as the key anchor, while also weighing dilution and valuation multiples.

Result: Fair Value of $21.48 (OVERVALUED)

Have a read of the narrative in full and understand what’s behind the forecasts.

However, this Roblox narrative could be challenged if bookings growth stalls again, or if safety and content moderation costs weigh on margins longer than expected.

    Another View on Roblox’s Valuation

While the most followed narrative sees Roblox as 75.9% overvalued at a fair value of $21.48, the Simply Wall St DCF model points in a very different direction. On that approach, Roblox at $37.79 trades below an estimated future cash flow value of $84.92, which frames the stock as materially undervalued instead. Which lens do you trust more for a business that is still loss making but generating cash?
