Rob Lowe is sharing that he actually wanted to be in the popular <a href="https://comicvibe.com/danny-boyle-confirms-the-use-of-generative-ai-in-his-new-movie-ink/” title=”Danny Boyle confirms the use of generative AI in his new movie Ink”>moviesTop Gunand Jerry Maguire, before learning that Tom Cruise had gotten the roles.
The 62-year-old actor revealed that Tom, 64, had nabbed the parts he wanted while talking to the New York Post in an interview published on Saturday (September 5).
“That dastardly Tom Cruise was always a nemesis,” he said, recalling reading the scripts for both films and then learning the Mission Impossible alum had already been cast.
Tomand Robboth previous starred in the 1983 coming-of-age drama The Outsiders from director Francis Ford Coppola. It featured many rising stars from the 1980s, also including Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, and more.
The Parks & Recreation star also took a moment to clarify a rumor that has been circling online that he was once considered for the lead role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which went to Matthew Broderick.
“No, that’s a big regret,” Robsaid, revealing the casting director hadn’t been interested in him.
“John Hughes never got what I was selling,” he said of the film’s director. “I met with Johnonce and it’s not like he didn’t have a lot of parts I could have done. When you really look at it, there were more than a few parts, multiple parts in some movies. Never, phone never rang.”
