    Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story, a TV anime adaptation of the novel Once Upon a Crime, will begin airing in 2027. Yume Miyamoto stars as Red Riding Hood, who gets caught up in various incidents that she tries to solve, while Akira Sekine co-stars as Pinocchio.

    Itsuro Kawasaki (The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting, the upcoming Shozen) is directing and writing the show at Benten Film. Among the other staff are character designers Manami Minakata andYuko Yahiro (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War).

    A teaser trailer and teaser visual offer a quick look at Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story‘s version of Red Riding Hood and Pinocchio:

    Once Upon a Crime(Akazukin, Tabi no Tochu de Shitai to Deau.) was written by AitoAoyagi and published by Futabasha in 2020. It inspired alive-action Japanese film that debuted on Netflix in 2023.

    On the outskirts of town lived a girl called “Red Riding Hood.” 

    One day, she found herself forced to embark on a journey for a certain purpose. Strangely enough, however, she kept getting swept up in incident after incident along the way. Using her innate curiosity and clever mind, Red Riding Hood set about solving each mystery. 

    “Why is your criminal plan so sloppy?” 

    This is the world of a fairy tale everyone knows—.
