Real VR Fishing brings players to warm waters with its latest expansion, the US South DLC, out now on Quest and Steam.

Devs United Games have announced that the latest DLC for Real VR Fishing will let players cast their lines across 7 new locations in the waters of the southern United States. The “US South” DLC drops today, and adds fishing spots from Texas, the Texas Gulf Coast, the Mississippi River in New Orleans, the Atlantic coasts of Georgia and Florida, and way out in the Florida Keys.

In addition to the seven new fishing locations, the US South DLC adds many new species of fish drawn from the DLC regions’ real-world ecosystems. These include bonefish, tarpon, and the infamously tricky snook. The DLC also adds a new rod and reel set.

Devs United Games is also keen to point out that this latest expansion is the first to utilize a new “image-upscaling pipeline” which is said to produce environments that are “noticeably sharper and higher-fidelity” than any which have appeared previously in the photorealistic fishing game.

The full list of included content is pasted here from the studio’s press release:

    • 7 new fishing locations spanning freshwater, brackish and saltwater: Hamilton Pool Overhang (Austin, TX), Fulton Harbor (Texas Gulf Coast), The Crescent City Connection (New Orleans, LA), Saint Marys River at Night (GA), Friendship Fountain (Jacksonville, FL), Bahia Honda State Park (FL Keys), and Sunset in Key West (FL)
    • New species, including snook, bonefish, permit, tarpon, Guadalupe bass, Atlantic sturgeon, mangrove/mutton/yellowtail snapper, gafftopsail catfish and ladyfish
    • A new and reel rod set built for Southern inshore fishing
    • Upgraded visual fidelity — the first expansion built on the new image-upscaling pipeline, delivering the sharpest environments in the series to date
    • Two night stages and a sunset stage — Jacksonville’s illuminated waterfront, Saint Marys River after dark, and the southernmost sunset in the continental United States

Real VR Fishing’s US South DLC launches today (August 25) on Meta Quest and SteamVR for $9.99. The base game is priced at $19.99.
