‘Reacher’ Season 4, Episode 5 Is Nonstop Action and Streaming Very Soon

After <a href="https://www.mensjournal.com/entertainment/reacher-season-4-episode-4-ending-explained-hoths-knives” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>a massive plot twist in the final moments of the fourth episode, Reacher Season 4 has kicked into a much higher gear. Although there have already been more fights in Reacher Season 4 than most of the other seasons—a fact which star Alan Ritchsonmentioned to Men’s Journal on more than one occasion—the relentless sense of season-long chase sequence is only getting started.

With the impending release of Reacher Season 4, Episode 5, “Bridge,” the action in this season levels-up again, and this time, comes close to feeling like a feature film. Here’s what to know about Reacher Season 4, Episode 5, including how the twist from Episode 4 changes the overall plot, making this Reacher story a bit different from the original 2009 Reacher book, Gone Tomorrow. Spoilers ahead forReacherSeason 4, Episodes 1-4.

Reacher Season 4, Episode 5 Release Date

ReacherSeason 4, Episode 4 is called “Bridge,” and starts streaming on Prime Video on Wednesday, August 26. All new episodes of Reacher release on Wednesdays. There are three episodes left in Season 4 after this week.

ReacherSeason 4, Episode 5, Streaming Time

Like most Prime Video shows, Reacher’s new episodes generally arrive at 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time, or 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time. So, big spoilers will arrive very early on the day the episode airs. That said, after last week’s episode, there’s not a spoiler quite that big lurking around. Still, be careful!

ReacherSeason 4, Episode 5, Plot Explained

Following the ending of Episode 4, “Karambits and Pieces,” the audience learned that Lila Hoth (Agnez Mo,) and Amisha Hoth (Anggun) were not victims at all, but rather, merciless killers. At the top of Episode 5, Reacher doesn’t know this yet, which means, at some point he’ll have to face the fact that he was very, very wrong about Lila and her motivations.

This twist matches the plot of the 2009 Lee Child Reacher novelGone Tomorrow. In the book, the Hoths were also revealed to be knife-wielding baddies, playing innocent.

But, in the TV series, this revelation comes quite a bit sooner in the overall story than in the book. To put it another way, perhaps the biggest twist of the book has been revealed, meaning, the next half of the season is full of different mysteries, and different twists.

From this point forward, part of the central mystery of Reacher Season 4 has shifted from the true motivation of the Hoths, to a bigger question: What’s on the thumb drive? And why do so many different factions—including some shadow part of U.S. government—want this intel?

The result of all of these mysteries results in Episode 5 feeling a bit more like a Bond movie than any previous episode of Reacher before. Get ready for some great chase sequences, and blockbuster level stunts.

If you’re a fan of Reacher, this is the kind of episode you’ve been waiting for, and one of the most impressive in the series yet.
