Telugu superstar Ravi Teja is said to be looking at a big hike in his remuneration following the strong box-office performance of Irumudi. Ravi Teja bagged a blockbuster hit with Irumudi and got the much-needed success.
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the actor’s fee is said to have jumped from around Rs 20 crore to Rs 35 crore.
The reported hike comes after a phase where some of the actor’s recent outings, including Tiger Nageswara Rao and Eagle, failed to make the anticipated theatrical impact. But Irumudi is said to be a big comeback for the actor and is said to have helped him regain his market strength.
Profit-sharing deal could boost earnings
Interestingly, it is also reported that Ravi Teja adopted a profit-sharing model for Irumudi instead of a fixed remuneration.
The report also says that the actor is going to make as much as Rs 50 crore from the film when the share of profit and a part of the collections of the Nizam area are counted. The figures are quoted by industrytor or his team
The reported hike in remuneration comes at a crucial juncture in Ravi Teja’s career. After a couple of underwhelming projects, Irumudi is an important release for the actor.
The film’s performance seems to have reignited industry interest in Ravi Teja and his forthcoming projects, with the actor now reportedly charging a much higher fee.
Ravi Teja is also set to collaborate with director Vivek Athreya on an upcoming horror flick. The movie is going to probably take the actor into a genre that’s somewhat different from some of his recent commercial outings.
Meanwhile, the trade observers quoted in the report believe that the actor’s next phase might be better served by carefully choosing his scripts rather than accepting work to keep up a steady stream of releases.
Ravi Teja’s reported market value is going up again and with the success of Irumudi, his remuneration and choice of future projects will be closely watched in the Telugu film industry.
