Releasing on October 16, Ranabaali also marks a special project as fans will get to see the real-life couple on the big screen for the first time after they got married earlier this year.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, one of the most beloved couples of the film industry, will soon be seen on screen in the upcoming film Ranabaali. Ahead of its release, Rashmika shared how her husband and co-star Vijay helped boost her confidence after they met on the sets of Geeta Govindam.
Releasing on October 16, Ranabaali also marks a special project as fans will get to see the real-life couple on the big screen for the first time after they got married earlier this year.
During an interview with Sudhir Srinivasan, Rashmika opened up about feeling underconfident earlier, but then Vijay walked into her life, not only lifting up her morale then but continuing to do so even now.
Rashmika said, “My core personality is not changed, which is, I believe in kindness, I want everyone to be happy, I want me to be happy, and I’ll work hard to earn what I have today. I would be this person who would not talk to anyone, make no eye contact with anyone, because I was very underconfident.”
The Thamma actress added, “Then walks in Vijay. Also, Geetha Govindam time when I used to see him, I used to just be like, in my life if I can be like that, I would admire him in a way where, okay, there’s this actor, if I could just be, talk, behave like him and have that confidence, that’s where I want to be in life. But through the filmmaking, there’s some conversation stayed with me today.”

She explained that she was highly inspired by Vijay’s confidence and wanted to live life like him.
Recalling how Vijay cheered her and helped her with her confidence, Rashmika continued, “He used to keep telling me that, “Listen, you are capable of doing so much more than what you believe in.” Till today, I still have problem in believing that, right? But that is something which has gotten me to where I am today. So I feel like that is never gonna go. Even today I keep telling him I need to hear affirmations, like, I need to hear…”
“I keep asking him for it. So I feel like that I would never want to change, and I don’t think that will change,” she concluded.
Rashmika and Vijay tied the knot in a destination wedding ceremony on February 26, 2026, at the ITC Mementos resort near Udaipur, Rajasthan. The grand wedding celebrations were held in the presence of family members and close friends. They got married in two ceremonies- Telugu and Kodava rituals.
Later, the couple also held a grand star-studded wedding reception in Hyderabad on March 4, 2026.
Meanwhile, Ranabaali is a period drama, directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series Films. It will release on October 16 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
