PS5 Ports of Beloved Classics Delisted From PlayStation Store

Two Disney classics have suddenly vanished from the PlayStation Store. Players can no longer purchase the affected versions of the games on the PlayStation Store, and they have also left the PS Plus catalog.

Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 have been removed from Sony’s official digital storefront. The games also left the PlayStation Plus Premium earlier this month. The delisting follows an August PlayStation LifeStyle report that predicted the games could be removed from the PlayStation Store.

The PS1 version of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command has also left the PS Store ahead of its inclusion in Toy Story: Retro Roundup! However, their removal from the service isn’t permanent for players who want to revisit these games, as both are returning in updated releases.

What happens to players who already bought the games?

Players who previously bought the digital versions should still be able to access their games. A PS Store delisting generally prevents new purchases, rather than entirely removing earlier purchased games from players’ libraries. Existing owners should still be able to re-download and play the games from their libraries.

PS Plus members are in a different situation. Once a game leaves the catalog, subscribers lose access to it through the service unless they own it separately.

However, the games will be back as part of a new release. Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command will return as part of the new collection Toy Story: Retro Roundup! Meanwhile, Toy Story 3 Complete Edition will be released separately.

In celebration of Toy Story’s 30th anniversary, Atari is bringing the collection to modern platforms with several Disney and Pixar classics. AIn addition to the previously mentioned titles, it includes Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story Racer (2001), and A Bug’s Life (1998), with multiple console and handheld versions.

Disney describes the collection as a “definitive collection of games based on the film franchise.”

Both Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition will be released on October 15, 2026.
