PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting one of the best additions they’ve had in a while, which is saying a lot considering what’s recently joined the service.

We feel like most PlayStation Plus users will be giving the GOTY contender Big Walk a try this week, and if you’re able to wrangle up some friends and hop into a game, you’re encouraged to do so.

Joining Big Walk though is the incredible Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, which recently got a new-gen upgrade and is now available for those with PlayStation Plus Extra.

What’s new with Ghost Recon Wildlands?

Ghost Recon Wildlands launched in 2017 and nearly 10 years later, it received a new, free DLC expansion.

It’s called ‘Last Rites’ and it’s available now for all PlayStation players. A new story mission is added which players can jump into at any point in the story.

You and your team of Ghosts infiltrate a region controlled by a cult of fanatics; dangerous and violent individuals led by a new main enemy called La Llorona. It’s much darker than other Ghost Recon Wildlands missions so it’s a welcome addition to the game.

It’s also worth mentioning that there are plenty more excellent DLC missions in the game, sporting crossovers with Splinter Cell and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. The new update also brings back the infamous Predator mission, which was pulled after release due to the license agreement expiring. The Yautja is officially back in the jungle though and waiting for the hunt to start…

    Ghost Recon: Wildlands Predator DLC-

Aside from new story content, the game has been upgraded for modern consoles. Visuals can now run at 4K and 60fps.

A wealth of new customisation settings have also been added to the game for either the Ghosts themselves or the overall game.

For the Ghosts, you can now play with a wide-variety of weapons without the need to unlock them through gameplay, including some that used to be locked behind challenges that are now no longer active. New Character Smith items are being introduced with some signature Ghost Recon flair, in order to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary.

As for gameplay settings, you’ll now be able to fine-tune your Wildlands experience even further thanks to new settings like ‘instant death’, which will make every combat encounter feel tense and challenging regardless of your skill-level. You can even change reloading to discard any bullets you accidentally left in the clip when switching to a new magazine.

Other additions include limitless revives, rate of enemy patrols, and (the one we’re most excited about) friendly-fire – perfect or those that want to get a little devious when playing in co-op.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is now available at no additional cost with your PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscription.

However, if you’d like to own the game outright it’s currently got a huge 85% discount on the store.
