PlayStation Plus full September 2026 free game line

August has almost drawn to a close, with September’s essential tier PlayStation Plus line-up due to officially be unveiled tomorrow, on Wednesday August 25.

Once again, however, reliable leaker billbil-kun has completely stolen Sony’s thunder, having confirmed the full roster for the essential tier this month.

It’s not the strongest month we’ve seen; in fact, it’s hardly going to pull those participating in the current PlayStation blackout back in but alas, here’s what you can expect.

• Wobbly Life

Usually, we’d urge you to take leaks with a pinch of salt, but billbil-kun is yet to let us down with an incorrect claim.

Sniper Elite Resistance was well received by players when it launched last year

Sniper Elite Resistance is definitely the headliner of this line-up, although it’s not one that’ll appeal to everyone. If you enjoy the likes of Battlefield and Call of Duty, you should get a kick out of this 2025 third-person shooter.

It’s perhaps slightly gorier than those other franchises with some pretty gnarly kills.

The story runs parallel to the events of Sniper Elite 5, but there’s no downside to having not played that game. You’ll pick up as Special Operations Executive Harry Hawker after he discovers the Wunderwaffe, a weapon so powerful that it could secure victory in the war for the Nazis.

Hawker must work alongside the French Resistance to make the sure the weapon is eliminated and never reaches the Reich’s arsenal.

Chained Echoes is a gorgeous pixel-art RPG

If Sniper Elite Resistance doesn’t quite do it for you, perhaps Chained Echoeswill. Developed by Umami Tiger, this is a retro-inspired pixel-art RPG that has a Final Fantasy or The Legend of Zelda feel to it.

It follows a group of heroes as they travel around the continent of Valandis, attempting to bring an end to a war between three kingdoms. It’s largely your standard fantasy RPG fare but uniquely, characters within Chained Echoes can pilot awesome mechs. Bet you didn’t see that coming. Inspired by the SNES era, this is definitely one for those who are tired of photorealistic takes on the RPG genre and long for the iterations of yesteryear to return.

Wobbly Life is the perfect game to play with friends if you just want to unwind

Wobbly Life is one of those games that lacks a strong directive for the player, and that’s what makes it so fun.
