PlayStation Plus is, according to one Reddit user, home to a Grand Theft Auto VI rival that was “way ahead of its time” having originally launched in 2016.
And while they’re probably being a tad too generous to the game in question which doesn’t truly live up to Rockstar Games’ standards, it’s still a decent play that’s worth trying between now and GTA VI’s launch.
The game in question is Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2.

Yes, Watch Dogs 2 fell into the typical Ubisoft trap of featuring too much repetitive open-world filler, but it was a visually ambitious game that offered players a fun, urban open-world playground.
If you’ve not sampled the Watch Dogs franchise before, allow me to inform you that you don’t need to have played Watch Dogs to enjoy Watch Dogs 2, which is set in an entirely different location with a new protagonist.
It centres around Marcus, a young hacker who’s recently joined the group DedSec with the goal of pulling off the biggest hack in history.
It feels quite topical, actually, with the recent CYBERLEEK crusade against GTA VI.
Players will explore a huge city as they hack into devices and take control of city infrastructure, while also hacking and making use of RC cars, Quadcopter drones, and 3D-printed weapons.
Outside of the single-player main story, there are also options for co-op play and “adversarial multiplayer” where you can face off against your friends and other players.
According to HowLongToBeat, Watch Dogs 2takes 19.5 hours to complete its main story, 32 hours for its main story and side quests, or 46.5 hours for completionist approaches.
In other words, it’s definitely something you can complete before GTA VI arrives on November 19.

Like I said, the OP’s comparison to GTA VI is perhaps a little far-fetched but this is an experience GTA fans should get a kick out of.

On the PlayStation Store, Watch Dogs 2 holds a very respectable score of 4.37 stars, with a whopping 73% of players awarding a perfect score of five.
Of course, you’re hardly short of things to play between now and November 19.
