Persona 4 Revival cutscenes to be animated by anime studio MAPPA, new Rise trailer released
Atlus gave fans at the Anime Expo 2026 their first look at one of the remake’s completely new animated scenes
Persona 4 Revival is getting some serious anime firepower, with Atlus bringing in the studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man to animate the remake’s new cutscenes
Atlus announced during its Persona 4 Revival panel at Anime Expo 2026 that MAPPA is working on the game’s anime scenes, including completely new sequences created for the remake. The announcement was also made on Atlus’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, sharing a brief teaser video:

MAPPA is animating Persona 4 Revival’s new cutscenes
According to a report by Polygon, fans at the Anime Expo panel were shown a glimpse of one of MAPPA’s new scenes, featuring the protagonist, Yosuke and Teddie encountering a group of enemies and summoning their Personas for the first time. It is one of several newly-animated anime cutscenes already spotted across Persona 4 Revival’s trailers, giving the remake refreshed anime sequences alongside its visual overhaul
MAPPA has become one of the biggest names in anime through series including Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, andAttack on Titan’s final season. However, the studio is no stranger to Persona, having previously worked with Atlus to animate the opening for Persona 5 Royal
The collaboration was one of several announcements made during the panel, which featured general producer Kazuhisa Wada, business producer Yoshuke Uda and character designer Shigenori Soejima. The trio also gave fans a closer look at the remake, including a short video comparing its visual improvements with Persona 4 Golden
Who is the new English voice actor of Rise Kujikawa?
Rise Kujikawa also stepped into the spotlight at Anime Expo 2026, with Atlus showing a new character trailer and confirming Abby Trott as her new English voice actress in Persona 4 Revival
Abby Trott is most known for her role as Nezuko from the English dub of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Momo Ayase in DAN DA DAN. Trott was also the voice of Tae Takemi in Persona 5 Royal, and Magik in Marval Rivals
Persona 4 anime series are now free to watch on YouTube
The final major announcement from the panel gave fans another way to return to Inaba before Persona 4 Revival arrives. Persona 4: The Animation and Persona 4: The Golden Animation are being made available for free on Aniplex USA’s YouTube channel between 4 July and 19 August
Persona 4 Revival will be released on 18 February, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from launch
