One of Adult Swim’s Best Shows is Leaving Netflix US After Two Years

Time is running out to stream one of Adult Swim’s most beloved animated series on Netflix. All three seasons of The Venture Bros. will be departing Netflix US in August 2026, exactly two years <a href="https://comicvibe.com/after-106-years-amc-posts-its-highest-quarterly-revenue/” title=”After 106 Years, AMC Posts Its Highest Quarterly Revenue”>after they were added to the platform.

As a quick recap, The Venture Bros. (also known as The Venture Brothers) made a surprise, triumphant return to the streaming service back in August 2024. At the time, Netflix picked up multiple seasons of the critically acclaimed animated comedy as part of a larger, short-term agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery to bring various catalog properties to the service.

Now, exactly two years later, that licensing window is coming to an end.

A removal notice is now showing on the title’s page on Netflix, stating that your last day to watch on Netflix is August 15, with the actual removal taking place on August 16, 2026.

This two-year licensing window has become standard practice for Warner Bros. Discovery titles leased out to Netflix. We’ve seen similar expiration dates for other licensed HBO and WBD properties over the last few years as their deals reach that exact two-year mark. The series picked up a fair bit of viewership on Netflix through its run, with Netflix Engagement Report data suggesting it picked up 11.7 million viewing hours across seasons 1-3, equating to 2.3 million views.

Has Netflix US Hosted Other Adult Swim Titles?

Long-time Netflix subscribers will know that The Venture Bros. has had a bit of a complicated history with the streaming service, and it isn’t the only Adult Swim show to have graced the platform.

Way back in the early days of streaming, Netflix struck a major deal with Turner Broadcasting in 2013 that brought a treasure trove of late-night animated classics to Netflix US. During that golden era, subscribers could binge early seasons of hit Adult Swim originals like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, The Boondocks, Frisky Dingo, and Childrens Hospital.

However, as the streaming wars heated up, the companies struggled to reach long-term agreements. This ultimately culminated in a massive purge of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim titles from Netflix late in 2016.

Since then, traditional Adult Swim properties have been incredibly scarce on Netflix US (though international Netflix users have long enjoyed having Rick and Morty as a staple on their regional libraries). More recently, Netflix US has managed to pick up critically acclaimed adult animation from WBD’s Max platform—most notably the sci-fi masterpiece Scavengers Reign, which originated from an Adult Swim animated short.

Now, history is repeating itself for Doc, Brock, Dean, and Hank. If you’re currently in the middle of a binge-watch of their misadventures, you only have until mid-August to finish up.

Where to Stream The Venture Bros. after it leaves Netflix?

Once the show departs Netflix US, it will continue to be available to stream in its entirety (all seven seasons and the wrap-up movie) on Warner Bros. Discovery’s own streaming service, HBO Max.

Are you sad to see The Venture Bros. leaving Netflix US again after its two-year run? Let us know in the comments down below. For more on what’s leaving Netflix throughout August 2026, keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix.
