One week after the “Expectations” singer sparked romance rumors with private equity associateJulian Croonenberghsduring several low-key outings, she appeared to confirm their relationship with a PDA-filled date at a park in Brooklyn July 26.
In photos from the park date, Rodrigo, 23, and Croonenberghs, 26, walked down a street in the New York borough out hand-in-hand before settling on a patch of grass surrounded by trees.
Rodrigo, who kept a low profile in jean cutoff shorts, a black tanktop, a navy baseball cap and shades, sat in between her date’s legs as he wrapped his arms around her. Croonenberghs, who sported a red pinstriped T-shirt with brown slacks and white sneakers, was all smiles as Rodrigo leaned on him.
The duo appeared to be seeing the world in purple, completely locked in on each other and even kissing each other’s hands at one point as they enjoyed the sunny day in the city.
Although Rodrigo nor Croonenberghs have formally addressed their romance, the couple have been spotted several times in the last month on dates in New York City, as well as at the Iceland airport in asocial mediaphoto shared by a fan July 20.
For her part, Rodrigo shared a glimpse into her trip to the Nordic island on TikTok, where she lip-synched to her newest single “Stupid Song” as she ran through a picturesque mountainside.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed a man’s hand shakily holding the camera in the upload, with one commenting on Rodrigo’s July 20 TikTok, “Mind you she filmed this with her new boyfriend.”
Croonenberghs, meanwhile, is a fairly private figure and currently works as a private equity associate at Hg. He previously worked as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs and attended Brown University, according to his LinkedIn. He was formerly a player for the US men’s national field hockey team between 2018 and 2020.
Nevertheless, all eyes have been on Rodrigo’s relationship status in the last month following the release of her latest albumYou Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So In Love, which is rumored to be about her exLouis Partridge, whom she dated from 2023 to 2025.
In promoting her latest LP, Rodrigo confirmed she wrote the songs throughout her former relationship with Partridge, although she has not explicitly confirmed theEnola Holmesactor inspired the album.
“Obviously started out writing with all these hopes—like, ‘This is gonna be a 100 percent love album,’” Rodrigo toldPitchforkin an interview published last month. “And obviously it didn’t end up that way—you can read between the lines on that one.”
And in April, the Grammy winner—who has also been linked toJoshua BassettandZack Bia—shared what she’s learned about love in her latest chapter.
“Things happen the way that they’re supposed to happen,” Rodrigo explained in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine. “It’s not supposed to be white-knuckle.”
