Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson is seeking to lead a class-action lawsuit against video game giant Roblox, his office announced Monday

Ohio’s top attorney contends the company misled investors about child-safety protocols while its stock collapse cost state pension systems $21.5 million.

“Roblox lied to investors and failed to protect children from online predators,” Wilson said in a statement. “We’re taking action to recover millions in lost pension funds and to make it clear that tech companies must be held accountable when they put kids in harm’s way.”

Filed Friday in California federal court, Wilson’s motion seeks lead-plaintiff status on behalf of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) and the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS).

The lawsuit alleges California-based Roblox Corp. falsely marketed its gaming platform as a safe environment for children while failing to implement basic screening tools.

According to the complaint, the unregulated environment allowed online predators and explicit content to target minors.

The alleged deception unraveled in April 2026 when regulatory pressure forced Roblox to implement mandatory age verification and minor-communication limits.

Following the changes, the company slashed its annual revenue projection by $1 billion due to plummeting user growth.

The disclosure triggered an 18% stock plunge, wiping out $6 billion in market value and fueling the steep losses for Ohio’s pension funds.

The lawsuit, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, also names Roblox executives David Baszucki, Naveen Chopra, and Michael Guthrie as defendants.
