It’s been two years since Nacelle Toys first launchedtheir line of unique Star Trek action figures, at New York Comic Con 2024. Their first wave of deep cut Trek figures is already out with a second wave hopefully arriving soon. And at NYCC today, the company revealed more of their unique take on Trek with a first look at figures from the third wave.
Gene and Lucy join Nacelle’s wave 3
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, Nacelle is honoring who they call the “mother and father of Star Trek,” with new figures for Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek, and Lucile Ball, owner of Desilu Productions, the company that developed TOS, selling it to NBC after producing two pilots.
“It’s obvious, but well worth repeating that there would be no Star Trek without the contributions of these two legends,” said Nacelle Toys CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss in a statement. “To have the ability to honor them with action figures, in celebration of the franchise’s 60th anniversary, is a dream come true.”
Gene’s figure comes with a typewriter, the original Star Trek script, a gold captain’s chair, and U.S.S. Enterprise model.
The Lucille Ball figure comes with her own set of the original Star Trek script, a DesiLu check book and a pen.
Sulu first look
Also at NYCC, Nacelle revealed a first-look at the render for Hikaru Sulu from wave three. And like other Nacelle figures, they got creative when it came to accessories. Sulu’s figure comes with his trusty Alpha 177 Canine, a tricorder, a communicator, a phaser, and of course his carnivorous plant, Gertrude.
The Gene and Lucy figures are the “surprise 2-pack” that was previously teased for wave 3 wave of Star Trek figures, which is themed around TOS, with the complete bridge crew, including James T. Kirk, Hikaru Sulu, Nyota Uhura, Spock, Dr. Leonard McCoy, Pavel Chekov, Montgomery “Scotty” Scott, Christine Chapel and Janice Rand.
The pre-sale for wave three is expected to launch November 20th, 2026..
