Nintendo announces that Mario Kart Tour is shutting down

Mario Kart Tour is shutting down, Nintendo has announced. The game is ending service on September 29 at 11 PM PT / September 30 at 2 AM ET
To clarify, the game is fully coming to an end. Nintendo says that there are no plans for an offline version. This is in contrast to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which did receive a final “Complete” version

Service for the Mario Kart Tour game for smart devices will come to an end as of 11:00 p.m. Pacific on September 29
We sincerely thank the many players who have loved and supported the game since service began so long ago
Thank you for playing Mario Kart Tour
The sale of rubies has already ended. However, existing rubies can be used in the Spotlight Shop, Mii Racing Suit Shop, and Coin Rush until service ends
As for the game’s Gold Pass subscription, here’s the rundown of everything you need to know regarding what’s happening:
We stopped all automatic subscription renewals and new subscriptions to the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass during the maintenance that was held at 11:00 p.m. PT on July 7, 2026, in conjunction with the game’s end of service at 11:00 p.m. PT on September 29, 2026
See below for information regarding how Mario Kart Tour Gold Passes will be handled until service ends
1. Players whose Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscriptions extend past the start of maintenance at 11:00 p.m. PT on July 7, 2026:
You can continue to enjoy Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass benefits, minus continuous-subscription benefits, until 10:59 p.m. PT on September 29, 2026, for free. Note: This includes players in a free-trial period
2. Players without a Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscription at the start of maintenance at 11:00 p.m. PT on July 7, 2026:
Beginning with the start of the Vacation Tour at 11:00 p.m. PT on August 4, 2026, until 10:59 p.m. PT on September 29, 2026, you can enjoy Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass benefits, minus continuous-subscription benefits, for free
