The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) has reported record gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $46.2 billion for fiscal year 2025,driven by growth across most of the U.S. tribal gaming industry.
The revenue, derived from independently audited financial statements submitted by 545 gaming establishments operated by 246 tribes across 29 states, increased by $2.3 billion from fiscal year 2024. Overall gross gaming revenue rose 5.3% from the previous fiscal year, with seven of the NIGC’s eight regions reporting growth.
“Indian gaming is an important contributor to tribal economies that empowers sovereign tribal governmentsto invest in their communities and provide their citizens with essential services,” NIGC Vice Chair Billy Kirkland said in a statement.
“The Trump Administration is proud to work alongside tribal leadersto ensure these benefits endure for future generations,” Kirkland added.
NIGC Associate Commissioner Sharon Avery said the results reflected the continued commitment of tribal regulators and operators to responsible growthand community benefit. “I would like to wish the Indian gaming community a job well done on another strong year,” Avery said.
According to the commission, about 9% of gaming operations reported more than $250 million in gross gaming revenue during fiscal year 2025and collectively accounted for 56% of total industry revenue.
More than 54% of tribal gaming facilities reported less than $25 million in gross gaming revenue, representing about 5% of the total revenue share.
The commission defines gross gaming revenue as the amount wagered minus winnings returnedto players and collects the data annually to monitor industry trends and help guide regulatory policy under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
