Paul Bettany returns as a rebooted Vision, on the run with a boy who may be his son reincarnate; James Spader voices Ultron in the Disney+ series that concludes the trilogy begun with ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along.’

Marvel Television has released a new trailer for VisionQuest, the all-new original series premiering October 14 exclusively on Disney+. Ahead of the premiere, WandaVision is now streaming on Hulu for a limited time, starting today.

The series concludes the trilogy that began with 2021’s award-winning WandaVision and continued with 2024’s Agatha All Along. Marvel dropped the first trailer back in August, after Paul Bettany and James Spader appeared at D23.

In the series, a rebooted Vision has escaped the people who wanted to weaponize him and gone into hiding. Looking for new meaning, he turns to the AI personas built into his programming, among them F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and the infamous Ultron.

A bounty on his head ends that quiet life and sends him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be his son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence and work out who his young companion really is.

Bettany returns as Vision; Spader voices Ultron. The cast also includes Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy.

Terry Matalas created the series for television, based on the Marvel Comics. He writes with Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti and Matthew Okumura, and directs with Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro and Vincenzo Natali.

Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Bettany, Mary Livanos, Matalas, Jac Schaeffer and Byrne executive produce; Roopesh Parekh produces. VFX studios on the show include Clear Angle Studios, El Ranchito, Folks VFX, Gentle Giant Studios and SSVFX.

Dan Sarto is Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Animation World Network.
