The Real Housewives have no qualms when it comes to discussing how much they spend on certain things — especially fashion and beauty.
Entertainment Weekly‘s sister siteInStylespoke with several Bravo stars for a breakdown of what it costs to be a Real Housewife, and the numbers are pretty staggering. From designer looks that are bought, not borrowed (for some) and astronomical glam budgets, money is no issue for these stunning ladies.
“Going into a season, I budgeted about $30,000 for glam,” former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs said in the story published on Friday. “I’m also very meticulous about my nails and toes. I spend $400 on Russian manicures.”
Josephs, who was on RHONJ for seven seasons before departing the show earlier this year, added: “The network does not cover glam—unless for interviews.” The Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola also noted that Bravo gives a “very little” stipend, “maybe $1,000,” for reunion outfits, which are some of the more costly looks for the women. “We buy our own dresses, our own clothes,” she said. “It doesn’t even cover my shoes, and you know Andy [Cohen] loves shoes.”

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Lisa Barlow is one Housewife that puts all of her money into her reunion looks.
“I don’t like prom-like reunion looks. I want to look how I normally would dress. Nothing overly ornate,” she said, calling a $6,000 Gucci look “an investment” that she plans to wear again. Barlow, affectionately called “Baby Gorgeous” by the fandom, is one of the women who will “never” borrow clothes. (Real Housewives of New York City star Jessel Taank is another one who won’t do it, while her costar Sai de Silva has no problem borrowing items.)
“Everything you see me in is what I own. If I’m going to be on a show about my real life, that’s part of showing the real me and my style,” she said, admitting that sometimes a stylist will help with sourcing certain pieces. “I don’t really think about money when I shop or when it comes to my Housewives wardrobe.”

Real Housewives of Orange Countystar Heather Dubrow has been through multiple iterations of the franchise — leaving in 2016 before returning in 2021 — and feels like it’s “a matter of keeping up with the Joneses” with the women and their splurges. That being said, she shells out a pretty penny for glam too.
“I think I spend around $10,000 to $15,000 a season,” Dubrow said of both her hair and makeup. “I’m not great at hair, so I tend to get my hair done more than my makeup.”
Taank estimates her beauty budget to be a little less. “If you’re investing in a good team, it can be anywhere between $3,000 or $4,000 a month,” she told InStyle, admitting that she gets “glammed a lot” for the show. “Especially for cast events because, again, I treat it like a big event, like a friend’s party or big moment.”
