The story of the animated series follows the story of a brother and sister trying to figure out life in New York after the arrival of their elder sister in town. The eight-episode series has been created by Andrew Law, who is also the showrunner and executive producer alongside Matt Murray. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, with animation by Titmouse. The debut season of Dang! will have eight episodes, each running for a duration of 30 minutes.
Everything Everywhere All at Once star Stephanie Hsu will be playing the role of the older sister Ruthie, and Poppy Liu will be lending her voice for the role of the younger sister. Creator Andrew Law is also a part of the cast as he will be the voice cast member for Andrew Dang, the brother.
DANG! finds comedy in sibling dysfunction and imperfect lives
The animated series will be based on the story of two messy siblings, Eunice and Andrew (played by Liu and Law, respectively), as their overachiever elder sibling Ruthie (Hsu) disrupts their lives.
The synopsis of the film reads, “DANG! follows a brother and sister duo whose fun, messy lives in New York City are interrupted when their worst nightmare comes true: their high-achieving older sister shows up and wants to hang out with them.”
