Marathi actor Vikas Samudre’s social media post sparked concern after he appeared to suggest that he was contemplating suicide. The alarming post prompted Mumbai Police and its cyber team to act swiftly and trace the actor. Samudre was later found safe and clarified that a typing error had led to the misunderstanding.

Samudre had written on Twitter, “I am committing suicide” on Facebook. The Mumbai Commissioner of Police and other senior officers were alerted, and the cyber team began trying to trace the actor. Cyber DCP Bajrang Bansode also reached out to Samudre. The cyber lab, along with five cyber officers and control room staff, began tracing him at 11.03 pm and located him by 12.15 am.
Police later confirmed that Samudre was safe. Subsequently, he explained that a typing error had made his post appear alarming and clarified that the message was actually connected to a drama project.
The post prompted an emotional response from Samudre’s followers. Many fans expressed worry in the comments, while others urged the actor not to take any extreme step and offered their support.
One user wrote, “There may be difficulties, but this is not the right way. Please don’t do anything like this⦔
Another concerned follower commented, “Sir, what happened? If there is any problem, we can find a solution together… Please don’t take such an extreme step…”

The incident comes shortly after the actor spoke about a difficult phase in his life during a podcast. He had previously revealed that he suffered a brain haemorrhage several years ago and recalled the painful memories associated with that period. He described it as an extremely difficult time and said he would not wish such an experience on anyone.
Samudre is a familiar face in Marathi cinema, theatre and comedy, having built a strong following with his performances across films and television. He gained popularity with the 2004 comedy Navra Maza Navsacha, which became known for its ensemble cast and situational humour. He later featured in projects such as Fu Bai Fu, Zakaas, Pipaani and Adla Badli, showcasing his versatility across comedy and drama.
The actor had taken a break from the entertainment industry after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Following his recovery, he returned to the stage with Santosh Pawar’s Marathi play Sundara Manat Bharli, where he took on a challenging double role. His return to theatre marked an important step in resuming his acting career.
