Everyone has those few TV shows they can watch over and over again without ever getting tired of them. Whether it’s putting something on in the background, rewatching an old favorite, or looking for something new to binge, there are certain shows that never disappoint. For me, there are three that will always have a special spot in my heart.
Coming in at number one is “Psych”. This is my all time favorite show. If you haven’t watched it, you’re seriously missing out. The show follows Shawn Spencer, who pretends to be a psychic detective while actually solving crimes using his one of a kind observation skills. Alongside his best friend Gus, the two get into all kinds of utterly ridiculous situations while helping the police solve cases.
What makes this show my favorite is the humor and the relationships between the characters. Shawn and Gus have one of the funniest friendships, and their completely opposite personalities make their interactions even better. I love how they constantly joke around with each other while still having each other’s backs. Another fun detail is the pineapple that makes a small appearance in every episode. It’s become a running tradition for fans to look for it, so watching for the pineapple is almost like a game of its own. Between the comedy, friendships, and mystery solving, this is definitely a show I can, and do, watch over and over again.
Number two on my list is “Bob’s Burgers”. This is one of those shows I can put on at literally any time and know I’ll enjoy it. It follows the Belcher family as they run their burger restaurant, with Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene, and Louise each bringing their own personalities and chaos to the family business.
One of the things I love most about “Bob’s Burgers” is how lighthearted every episode feels. It’s the perfect show when I want to watch something entertaining without having to worry about a complicated storyline or getting stressed out. Every episode has its own little adventure, and the family’s personalities make even the simplest situations funny. One of my favorite episodes is “The Equestranauts” when Tina gives away her horse figurine and Bob ends up attending a convention for adult male fans of the pony cartoon. It’s such a ridiculous storyline, but that’s exactly what makes the show so enjoyable. It’s definitely one of my go to comfort shows.
Rounding out my top three is “Shrinking”. Unlike the first two, this show has a little more emotional depth while still being genuinely funny. It follows a therapist who starts taking a very different approach with his patients after experiencing a personal loss. The show balances humor with more serious moments in a way that makes it easy to get invested in the characters.
What really makes “Shrinking” stand out to me is the storyline and how well each character is portrayed. Everyone has their own personality, struggles, and relationships, which makes the show feel more realistic. I especially enjoy the relationships between the neighbors and how involved they have become in each other’s lives. Their interactions add another layer to an already amazing story and create some of the funniest and most meaningful moments. It’s one of those shows where you become invested in not just the main storyline but everyone’s individual lives.
At the end of the day, these three shows are completely different, but that’s exactly why I love them. Whether I’m in the mood for a funny detective duo, a lighthearted animated family, or a comedy with a little more heart, there’s always something on this list that fits. If you’re ever stuck scrolling trying to decide what to watch, hopefully one of these makes your list!
