The Minnesota Lynx decided to take fans back 20 years, or at least what life was like for gaming fans in 2006. A clip showing Lynx players recreated as Wii characters recently surfaced, and the players’ teammates had the tough task of guessing which character each custom player represented.
The Lynx players got off to a good start with the custom player “lookalike” for Oli the video below posted by Sneaker Reporter, the players were a bit stumped by Kayla McBride, but most went on to guess the remaining game characters correctly. However, the reaction to head coach Cheryl Reeve’s angry-faced character drew more than a few laughs
The Lynx digital media team, or whoever created that for the players, deserves a tip of the cap because that was some impressive work.
And for good measure, the Lynx’s work on the court has been even more impressive, as the team holds the best record in the WNBA at 31-8, with a four-game lead over the No. 2 team, the Golden State Valkyries.
