Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Archewell Productions has reportedly reduced staffing on its shows while keeping its Hollywood office open.

The cuts affected crews hired for projects such as Harry & Meghan and With Love, Meghan, rather than full-time company employees Representatives for the couple did not respond to its requests for comment

An unnamedonths and described just a handful of employees at the company’s Raleigh Studios offices in Los Angeles

The Oct. 15 report gave no exact current headcount or number of affected crew members. Harry and Meghan launched their entertainment company in 2020 after leaving their roles as working royals.

Netflix Renewed the Deal, Then Rejected Claims of a Falling Out

Archewell’s original exclusive agreement with Netflix was replaced by a multiyear first-look arrangement in August 2025. Under the new deal, the streamer receives the first opportunity to consider the company’s film and television projects. Its announcement listed a catalog that also included Heart of Invictus, Polo and Live to Lead.

Netflix pointed to 23.4 million views for the couple’s documentary in its first four days after its December 2022 debut. Meghan’s lifestyle series drew 5.3 million views during the first half of 2025, making it the platform’s most-watched culinary show since its release

In a March investigation, Variety cited six people familiar with the partnership who described problems with communication, development and programming performance. A Netflix insider said the mood was “We’re done.”

A company spokesperson called claims that executives Ted Sarandos and Bela Bajaria had lost confidence in the couple “absolutely inaccurate.” The Sussexes’ attorney, Michael J. Kump, rejected the allegation that Meghan regularly interrupted Harry during meetings. Their spokesperson also disputed suggestions that Netflix had been kept unaware of outside media projects.

At the March 18 Next on Netflix presentation, Bajaria said, “They have things in development on the TV and film side,” She noted that the company regularly allows other deals to expire without attracting comparable coverage

Netflix had ended its involvement in Meghan’s As Ever retail brand earlier that month. Both companies said the business would continue independently, with Netflix describing that outcome as the original intention. Separately, With Love, Meghan has not received a third-season renewal, but a Sussex spokesperson told Variety in March that it would continue through seasonal specials.

The Author of ‘Meet Me at the Lake’ Reported Progress in June

Carley Fortune offered a production update on the planned adaptation of Meet Me at the Lake during the June 18 episode of Open Book with Jenna. Speaking with Jenna Bush Hager, the novelist said, “we have a director attached, and the script is still being revised,” as CinemaBlend reported.

Fortune also recalled discussing the book with Meghan and Archewell producer Tracy Ryerson before agreeing to work with them. Their conversation covered the mother-daughter relationship, parenthood, grief and mental health that underpin the romance. She said she felt the producers understood what mattered about the story.

The Wedding Date, based on Jasmine Guillory’s novel, was announced in December 2025 with Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver attached to the screenplay Neither romance adaptation has an announced release date

In May, PEOPLE confirmed another Netflix project, an adaptation of Major Adam Jowett’s No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege. The book follows British soldiers outnumbered by the Taliban in Afghanistan. The outlet credited Deadline with reporting that Bridge of Spies screenwriter Matt Charman was writing the film, with Harry, Meghan and Ryerson producing.

‘Cookie Queens’ Reached Theaters in August

The couple’s documentary work has also extended beyond Netflix. Cookie Queens, directed by Alysa Nahmias and executive-produced by Harry and Meghan, opened in U.S. theaters on Aug. 7 through Roadside Attractions and Vertical.

The film follows four Girl Scouts through cookie-selling season, including the sales targets, long hours and family commitments involved. Its credited producers are Michael Dweck, Gregory Kershaw, Nahmias and Jennifer Sims, with Archewell participating alongside the other production companies.

Harry and Meghan attended its January premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. The film’s website now directs viewers to Apple TV, Amazon, YouTube and Google Play for online viewing and offers a booking route for community screenings.

The Charity Cuts Involved a Separate Organization

Archewell Philanthropies, previously known as the Archewell Foundation, underwent its own restructuring in December 2025. Page Six reported that three employees were let go to reduce costs. Those positions belonged to the couple’s nonprofit, not their commercial production business.

Harry and Meghan returned to Britain in August and visited Nottingham charities on Oct. 15 in their first joint public appearance since the move, Reuters reported. Their stops included the Community Recording Studio, Himmah and Epic Partners, which work on youth support and food poverty.
