Megan Thee Stallion releases Amazon Prime Video animated series
At DreamCon, Megan Thee Stallion confirmed that she will be releasing an animated series via Amazon Prime Video. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen an anime like this in my life,” she said. Details about what the Megan Thee Stallion anime will look like are still under wraps, but the rap star said she collaborated with The Boondocks’ Carl Jones on the project. The announcement was shared during the musician’s first appearance at the convention, where she met fans, participated in the official panel “Power and Creativity: Building Culture-Moving Brands with Megan Thee Stallion,” and cosplayed as Yoruichi Shifuin from Bleach. In a TikTok video of Megan the Stallion announcing her cartoon, fans asked for more information about what they could expect soon, to which Megan replied, “No, that’s it! That’s exciting news.”
CBR previously reported on early developments that Megan Thee Stallion’s animated series would be first announced on live music streaming platform StationHead in 2024. “It’s still in the works,” the artist said, “but I’m obsessed with my music. The anime is definitely in the works.” Alongside the animated series, Megan Thee Stallion has signed a deal with Netflix to create and executive produce new projects for the streaming platform.
