It isn’t every day that fast-food giant, McDonald’s, partners directly with a gaming brand. Starting from Tuesday 25th August, there will be an XBOX gaming inspired menu available across the UK and Republic of Ireland branches for a limited time only. Cubed3 has had the chance to sample this tasty new menu in advance, if you are hungry for more then read on.

The menu connects and inspires itself to six different XBOX properties. First off, Black Pepper & Garlic McNuggets, themed after the Moa bird from the world of Halo, a subtle nod to the series indeed. These are easily some of the tastier items on the new menu and distinguish themselves from the standard nuggets with that cracked pepper flavouring. However, for chicken fans, the Fiery Buffalo Dip paired with Chicken Selects certainly wins the best combo on the new menu. The dip itself is a nod to World of Warcraft franchise. The other savoury snack on the new menu is inspired by Fallout 76 with… Cheesy Potato Bites. These are potato rings filled with cheese, but in all honesty were probably the most disappointing item on the menu as they fell a bit short on flavour when compared to other items available.

Anyone looking for a sweet treat might be in a for a bit of luck as McDonald’s have connected the world of Overwatch to Kiriko’s beloved snack: the sweet treat Sugar Donut, or as I would rather say, “Doughnut”. This will appear in limited-time packaging, although it is just a standard doughnut so not much to write home about. The new Sour Cherry Fizz is a combination of Sprite Zero with sugar-free sour cherry flavoured syrup which somehow represents the Sakura season in Forza Horizon 6. On that note, the cherry on top, and the winner of the sweet treats goes to the Candy Crush Choco McFlurry which is easily the best item in the whole of McDonald’s. I’ll be back to grab this when it launches!

Users of the McDonald’s App will be able to go a step further and redeem in-game <a href="https://comicvibe.com/ink-alliances-first-dc-<a href="https://comicvibe.com/sony-confirms-these-ps5-games-are-console-exclusive-and-wont-come-to-pc/” title=”Sony confirms these PS5 games are console exclusive and won't come to PC”>exclusive-sells-out-more-exclusives-planned/” title=”Ink Alliance’s First DC Exclusive Sells Out, More Exclusives Planned”>exclusive rewards and daily deals. Side Missions will introduce a gamified journey and, whilst this was not available at the event to experience, McDonald’s have said that fans can unlock rewards, hidden moments, and engage with content inspired by their favourite games, turning every visit into an interactive experience.

Furthermore, customers will be able to use their Reward points to unlock exclusive in-game items across participating titles.

    • A car voucher for Forza Horizon 6, letting players add a new vehicle to their collection
    • A Sugar Bomb Bundle in Fallout 76, packed with themed in-game goodies
    • A Red Hot Portable Bakery in World of Warcraft, a fan-favourite limited-time item that is making a special return
    • A Candy Crush Choco McFlurry
    • Kiriko’s beloved Sugar Donut in Overwatch

The new menu launches from Tuesday, 25th August in restaurants nationwide for a limited time only.

Will you be taking a trip to McDonald’s to get one of these items? Let us know in the comments.
