Mattel is giving the Masters of the Universe new Evil Horde members to the Masterverse New Eternia subline, including Mantanna and Mosquitar. These two classic characters help build the 1980s series of comic book villains, She-Ra: Princess of Power Evil Horde. Mantanna is an insect-like creature with four legs and protruding antennae eyes that performs goofy acts in classic Sierra cartoons. Mosquitoes are energy-draining insects that look like cyborg creatures with long, pointed metal heads and needle noses that suck out the blood of their enemies. Both characters are part of Hordak’s inner circle and are currently available for purchase at BigBadToyStore.

Mantanna and Mosquitar are packaged in a standard window box from the Masterverse line and include beautifully executed artwork on all sides, including the Masters of the Universe New Eternia logo. On the back side, there are pictures of the figure, accessories, and the state of the waves.
Mantanna is an insect-like creature with four legs and interchangeable eyes, inspired by his classic look from the 1980s with some modern updates. He comes in classic colors such as red, dark blue, and black, with a gold belt with the Horde logo on the front, and a red Horde logo on the chest with an orange plastic piece just above it. His arms and legs include sculpted ridges and fins, and the chest armor overlay is removable, a new feature for the character.
His head sculpt closely resembles the character and includes two removable bug eyes (which are difficult to remove and requires removing the front part of his face to remove these eyes), sharp white teeth, and large ears.
Replacement eyes include a pair of eyeballs that recreate the feature of vintage toys with pop-out eyeballs. These can also be rotated.
Mantanna also comes with a blaster into which you can insert eyeballs.
His articulation includes a ball-jointed head and neck, ball-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel hips, 4 ball-jointed hips, 4 swivel-hinged knees, and 4 hinged and rocker ankles.
Mosquitoes are energy-draining insects that look like cyborg creatures with long, pointed metal heads and needle noses that suck out the blood of their enemies. He also takes inspiration from vintage designs with some new features. He comes in all his classic colors including black, red, purple, gray, silver, and white eyes. The chest piece is replaceable and shows the total blood volume in the partial pieces. The wings are connected by ball joints and have an insect-like design. His gauntlets and boots are armored, his shoulder pads have several spikes, and are made of soft plastic.
The head sculpt has a long nose into which accessories such as needles, blades, and long tubes can be inserted, all of which can also be inserted into the blaster and nose. He also has a tube that connects to the back of his head and neck. We will also introduce the replacement chest parts in detail.
The fact that accessories can be plugged into the nose or into the blaster is another new feature for him, allowing him to hold accessories even with an open grip hand (though with a looser fit).
His articulation includes a ball-jointed head, ball-jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel hips, ball-jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel boots, and hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, both Mantena and Mosquitar are great looking figures that fans are sure to love and fit very well into the New Eternia portion of the line.
