San Diego Comic-Con 2026 opens its doors for Preview Night this Wednesday, July 22, with the full convention running Thursday through Sunday, July 26, at the San Diego Convention Center. The weekend will be one of the most structurally significant editions in years — not because the panel count is unusually long, but because of who is showing up and why: Marvel Studios is back in Hall H after sitting out 2025, Apple TV+ will take over Hall H for the first time in the streamer’s history, and Spider-Man swings into theaters just five days after the convention ends. The studios that fill Hall H this year are not just promoting projects — they are declaring competitive positions in a reshuffled industry.

Marvel Studios will hold a one-hour Hall H presentation on Saturday, July 25, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT — returning after a deliberate absence in 2025. The studio skipped last year’s convention to keep its cast in production for Avengers: Doomsday, which now has a December 18, 2026, theatrical release date. The Marvel Studios SDCC 2026 panel promises “special guests from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe” and an exclusive look at what is coming next. With the first full Doomsday trailer having dropped online the morning of July 20 — ahead of the convention — the Saturday evening slot is expected to deliver the film’s full cast on stage for the first time, along with further announcements about the MCU’s next phase.

The most recent Marvel Hall H moment, at SDCC 2024, produced two of the MCU’s most-discussed reveals: the Russo Brothers’ return to direct and Robert Downey Jr.’s casting as Doctor Doom. With that announcement still in recent memory and Doomsday less than six months from release, the Saturday evening slot carries more weight than the phrase “exclusive look” usually implies.

Marvel’s Saturday Hall H Slot Is the Weekend Centerpiece

On the comics side, Thursday panels will preview Avengers: Armageddon (Thursday, July 23 at 1:45 p.m. PT in Room 6A) and the new Midnight Universe initiative (Saturday at 1:45 p.m. PT in Room 6A), giving readers an early look at where the printed universe is heading.

What Apple TV+’s Hall H Debut Actually Means for the Industry

Apple TV+ will take over Hall H on Saturday, July 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. PT — the two hours immediately preceding Marvel’s slot — making it the streamer’s first Hall H appearance since it launched in 2019. Josh Horowitz will moderate a two-hour showcase covering Matchbox The Movie, Mayday, Widow’s Bay, Dark Matter, and Silo.

Claiming Hall H is not a scale upgrade — it is a category change. Hall H is where studios signal competitive parity with the industry’s largest brands. Apple TV+ made its SDCC debut in 2022 with individual series panels for Severance, For All Mankind, and Foundation, and added format each subsequent year. None of those appearances claimed Hall H. The 2026 two-hour Saturday slot positions Apple TV+ as a convention anchor, not a convention participant.

The timing amplifies that signal. Widow’s Bay heads into the Hall H appearance with 19 Emmy nominations, making it the streamer’s most prominent awards contender this year. Silo Season 3 is already in mid-run, with episodes streaming weekly through September 4. And for fans who cannot get into Hall H, Apple TV+ will also run a free, open-to-the-public Silo Experience installation at The Lot @ 1st & J in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter from Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT — no badge required.

Friday: Prime Video Opens Hall H and Lanterns Steps Into the Green Light

Friday, July 24, opens Hall H with Prime Video’s joint panel for Blade Runner 2099 and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3, running from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. PT. The two shows share the stage in a 90-minute split: Blade Runner 2099, executive produced by Ridley Scott and created by Silka Luisa (Shining Girls), stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer and is set 50 years after Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049. The panel marks the start of the series’ formal marketing campaign. Rings of Power Season 3 is expected to preview episodes ahead of its November 11, 2026 premiere on Prime Video.

Later Friday at 1:30 p.m. PT, Lanterns takes over Hall H with what may be the most time-sensitive panel of the weekend. The DC Studios series — starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, with co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King on stage — premieres on HBO just 23 days later, on August 16. The Lanterns Hall H panel will offer an exclusive first look; for fans who want to secure a spot, the Lanterns Training Headquarters activation runs off-site at Venue 808 on 808 J St, Thursday through Saturday, with interactive challenges tied to the show’s Green Lantern mythology.

Thursday Opens with Percy Jackson, Avatar, and Marvel’s Comics Panels

Thursday’s Hall H programming starts at 10:00 a.m. PT with Percy Jackson and the Olympians, where stars Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart, Levi Chrisopulos, and Olive Abercrombie will join executive producers Craig Silverstein and Dan Shotz for an exclusive first look at Season 3, adapting Rick Riordan’s The Titan’s Curse.

At 1:00 p.m. PT, Hall H shifts to Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender — a Paramount+ animated film that continues the Avatar universe — with cast and creative team expected to deliver sneak peeks at what the Four Nations look like on the big screen, ahead of the film’s streaming premiere on Paramount+ that Saturday, July 25.

Thursday afternoon also brings Marvel’s comics preview for Avengers: Armageddon in Room 6A, offering comics readers their first sustained look at the upcoming event title.

Spider-Man Arrives at SDCC Days Before Opening Night

Sony Pictures has confirmed a panel for Spider-Man: Brand New Day at SDCC 2026 — a Sony Pictures event separate from Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland, opens July 31 — just five days after the convention closes. Fans expect the panel to include cast appearances and likely a final trailer ahead of the theatrical release. It will be the first time Holland and Zendaya have appeared at SDCC to promote a Spider-Man film since Homecoming in 2017.

    The Collectibles Floor: X-Men ’97, S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, and Hasbro’s $49.99 Exclusive

SDCC’s exhibit hall exclusives are an annual market event in their own right, and 2026 has a clear centerpiece.

Hasbro (Booth #3213) is debuting the Marvel Legends Series Professor Charles Xavier and Hoverchair — X-Men ’97 SDCC exclusive, priced at $49.99. The Hasbro Professor X hoverchair exclusive includes the cel-shaded Charles Xavier figure in a fully functional hover chair with removable blast effects, a psychic effect piece, swappable hands, an alternate head sculpt with Cerebro helmet, and packaging styled as a retro VCR deck. After the convention, limited quantities will be available on HasbroPulse.com. The accompanying Marvel Legends Spider-Man, Lizard, and Electro three-pack (from the classic Spider-Man ’67 animated series) is also a booth exclusive at Hasbro during convention hours.

LEGO (Booth #2829) is spotlighting the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and other new Marvel sets, alongside the Fantastic Four’s H.E.R.B.I.E. and a Venom Bust. The Helicarrier set tends to draw dedicated LEGO collectors who treat SDCC floor drops as purchasing events; arrive at the LEGO booth early in the morning for best availability.

New-Gen Universe will launch its first consumer products line at the con with an SDCC-exclusive Cryptozoic trading card set, marking the franchise’s entry into physical collectibles at the convention level.

Why This Year’s SDCC Looks Different

SDCC 2026 arrives at a reshaped moment for studio marketing. The 2023 strikes disrupted production pipelines and paused convention Hall H appearances for some of the industry’s biggest franchises. The post-strike period brought both a recalibration of release schedules — Avengers: Doomsdaymoved from May 2026 to December 2026 precisely to allow the cast to appear on stage this summer — and a clearer sense of which streaming platforms had developed slates credible enough to claim Hall H real estate.

The 2026 lineup reads as a response to those two years: Marvel with its highest-stakes panel since Phase 4 in 2019, Apple TV+ converting four years of convention presence into a Hall H declaration, and Sony timing its Spider-Man promotion to land during the single most concentrated weekend of fan attention in the North American calendar.

For attendees, the practical note is a simple one: all SDCC 2026 badges are sold out. Hall H panels will not be live-streamed during the convention. On-site attendance — or following real-time coverage from outlets on the floor — is the only way to experience them as they happen. Preview Night begins this Wednesday, July 22.

    Frequently Asked Questions

When does Marvel Studios appear at Hall H during SDCC 2026?

Marvel Studios is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. PT in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center. The one-hour presentation will feature special guests from across the MCU and is expected to deliver the film’s cast on stage following the release of the first full Avengers: Doomsday trailer on July 20, 2026. The panel may also include further MCU announcements. Marvel skipped SDCC in 2025, making this its first Hall H return in two years.

Is Apple TV+ at Comic-Con 2026, and what will it show?

Apple TV+ is at SDCC 2026 for its first-ever Hall H appearance — a two-hour showcase on Saturday, July 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. PT. The panel will cover five titles: Matchbox The Movie, Mayday, Widow’s Bay (which has 19 Emmy nominations), Dark Matter, and Silo. Additionally, The Silo Experience, a free multi-sensory installation open to the public without a badge, runs at The Lot @ 1st & J in the Gaslamp Quarter from Friday, July 24, through Sunday, July 26.

What collectibles are being released at SDCC 2026?

The most sought-after exclusive is Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series Professor Charles Xavier and Hoverchair from X-Men ’97, priced at $49.99 and available first at the Hasbro Booth #3213 while supplies last. LEGO (Booth #2829) will also display the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and other new Marvel sets. After the convention, limited quantities of the Hasbro exclusive will be available on HasbroPulse.com.

What is happening with Spider-Man: Brand New Day at SDCC?

Sony Pictures has confirmed a panel for Spider-Man: Brand New Day at SDCC 2026 — a Sony event, not part of Marvel Studios’ Hall H slot. The film opens July 31, just five days after SDCC closes, making the panel one of the convention’s most release-adjacent events. Cast appearances and likely a final trailer are expected. Specific room and time details have not been confirmed in the official programming grid as of this writing.
