The world’s greatest sorcerers conspired to keep the Darkhold sealed. Its pages should have never seen the eyes of a reader. Its spine should have gone uncracked; the book’s secrets hidden from those who’d seek to harness them. But the dark side of the Marvel Universe has been unleashed! Hel is empty, and all the devils, sorcerers, and vampire-hunting vampires are here in Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny!
0092_MTGMDD_Main: The Darkhold
0106_MTGMDD_Main: Hela, Mistress of Darkness
Journey deeper into the mystery for a Universes Beyond set that’s unlike anything we’ve done. For Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny, we collaborated with Marvel to craft an all-new, original story set in the Marvel Universe. These are the characters of Marvel told in a distinctly Magic way. You’ll be able to follow this dimension-hopping narrative across the set, all while uncovering the secrets of the Dark Dimension and joining forces with Marvel’s pantheon of gods.
Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny‘s story will include the origin of a brand-new character through a new Marvel Comics release written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, with a digital release set for February 2027 and a physical release set for April 2027. This story was crafted by our Narrative team with Magic in mind, and we’re thrilled to see it adapted by two of Marvel’s most beloved writers. Readers can follow this journey into the arcane side of the Marvel Universe, then you can take the story and the cards into your own hands when the set launches in April of 2027.
0161_MTGMDD_Main: Rise from the Nether
0242a_MTGMDD_Main: Magik, Illyana Rasputin
This set will take you to previously uncharted realms within the Marvel Universe, filled with your favorite unworldly characters—including Magik, who’ll be stepping into Magic Heroes and Super Villains will make their debut in Magic, bringing all their grim power to your decks
0399_MTGMDD_SceneNew: Gargantos, the Endbringer
Further secrets lie beyond the main set, as players will uncover even more arcane curiosities in the set’s Commander decks, Scene Boxes, and more! We’ve also crafted new Booster Fun treatments and refined some of your favorites from recent releases, so collectors of everything Marvel will have plenty to get excited for. You can see all the recently revealed cards in the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny Card Image Gallery.
Do you hear that? The growl of werewolves at the door, the hissing of vampires who thirst for divine blood, the chanting of witches as they enact their dark arts? Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny approaches! The set releases on April 9, 2027, and is available for preorder now from your local game store, TCGplayer, Amazon, and elsewhere Magic is sold.
