Maestro sets sail in Pirates of the Caribbean DLC

Maestro adds two notable songs from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and other epic nautical songs join in the latest DLC.

The heart of All Aboard! Updated are two iconic Pirates of the Caribbean tracks, including Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt’s instantly recognizable theme “He’s a Pirate” and Zimmer’s “Jack Sparrow.” These evocative songs are joined by ocean-inspired music, including The Shack Wellerman, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Shipwreck, and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony Overture.

As with previous Maestro add-ons, including the Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Fantasia-themed updates we’ve previously covered here, the new DLC brings more than just music. Everyone participate! It adds new environments to perform in (including a kraken and ghost ship) and new pirate-themed costumes for the orchestra. Players can also get into the spirit of adventure with new accessories and decorations, such as the Kraken’s Paw Baton and the Captain’s Gloves.

A 2024 review of Maestro praised the game’s bold use of hand tracking on Quest, calling the experience a “breath of fresh air” compared to other VR rhythm games. It has since been rolled out to nearly every major VR platform, and is currently one of the few games to support PlayStation VR2 hand tracking.

Maestro and the new All Aboard! The add-on is currently available on the Meta Horizon Store and Steam, with Pico and PS VR2 releases to follow “in the coming days.”

Maestro Review: Hit the high notes with hand tracking on the Quest

Maestro is an ambitious redefinition of VR rhythm gaming, focusing on real-world orchestra management techniques using Quest’s hand tracking.
