Like or Die Revealed: NC Turns 16 Streamers Loose in a Survival FPS Where Everyone Is Broadcasting

NC has finally put a name on Project Bonfire. It is called Like or Die, and the premise is the strangest thing to come out of Opening Night Live: sixteen players compete as streamers, split into four squads, broadcasting their own match on a cosmic platform called Quaya Stream while trying to destroy each other’s Nexus.
The hook underneath the gimmick is the Block Action system. Players place structures and reshape the battlefield mid-fight, so cover is something you build rather than something you find.
Streaming as a mechanic, not a theme
Plenty of games have used streaming as set dressing. What makes this one worth watching is that the broadcast is the fiction the whole match sits inside, which raises an obvious question NC has not answered yet: does the audience do anything?
If Quaya Stream is just a skin over a battle royale, it is a nice trailer and nothing more. If viewers can vote, drop re nobody has landed properly since Twitch Plays was a novelty. If you ask us, that single design decision is the difference between a curiosity and a genre

NC is a Korean studio with a long history in MMOs rather than shooters, which makes this a real departure. Worth keeping an eye on the beta sign-ups.
