Gaming laptops have always had to balance performance and portability, but you don’t necessarily need an enormous desktop replacement to enjoy demanding <a href="https://comicvibe.com/next-week-on-xbox-new-games-for-october-12-to-16/” title=”Next Week on XBOX: New Games for October 12 to 16″>games away from home. The Lenovo LOQ 15IPH11 Gaming Laptop takes a more restrained approach, packing some capable hardware into a relatively understated 15.3-inch chassis while still delivering the display and gaming-focused features you’d expect from the LOQ family.
Our review unit pairs an Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU featuring 8GB of GDDR7 memory, backed by 16GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, giving it a solid foundation for modern gaming while leaving plenty of room for everyday workloads, study, and content creation.
The 15.3-inch IPS display runs at 1920×1200, with its 16:10 aspect ratio providing a little more vertical space than the traditional 16:9 format. A 165Hz refresh rate helps keep faster games feeling smooth, while 100% sRGB coverage gives the panel enough colour accuracy to be useful outside of gaming as well. Brightness sits at 300 nits, so the focus is clearly on refresh rate and colour reproduction rather than competing with brighter premium displays.
That resolution also makes sense for the hardware underneath it. Running the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark at its native 1920×1200 resolution using the High preset, DLSS and Frame Generation, the Lenovo LOQ 15IPH11 Gaming Laptop averaged 86FPS, reaching a maximum of 100FPS and a minimum of 72FPS. The low fifth came in at 78FPS, so performance remained impressively consistent throughout the benchmark.
For some extra context, we ran the same benchmark on our desktop testing system, equipped with an Intel Core i9-14900, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, and 32GB of RAM. Using the same High preset, DLSS, Frame Generation, and Super Resolution settings, the desktop averaged 139 FPS, with a maximum of 157 FPS and a minimum of 120 FPS.
It’s not a completely like-for-like comparison, but it gives you a useful reference point for the performance coming from the much more compact hardware. Full Ray Tracing was disabled on both systems and Frame Generation was enabled, so these figures shouldn’t be mistaken for native rendering performance. Even so, maintaining an 86FPS average with a minimum comfortably above 60FPS in a demanding title like Black Myth: Wukong is a solid showing from the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU.
Lenovo’s Super Falcon cooling design keeps that hardware under control, with heat pipes and a shared thermal architecture helping move heat away from key components. Fn+Q also provides quick access to Quiet, Balanced, and Performance modes, letting you adjust the system depending on whether you’re gaming, working, or trying to keep things a little quieter.
The Lenovo LOQ 15IPH11 Gaming Laptop keeps a relatively subtle look, finished in Luna Grey rather than leaning too heavily into aggressive gaming styling. The TrueStrike keyboard offers 1.6mm of travel, 100% anti-ghosting, and single-zone RGB lighting, while the illuminated LOQ power button adds a touch of extra personality.
A 5MP RGB+IR webcam sits above the display alongside dual microphones, with infrared support making Windows login considerably easier. A physical E-Shutter switch on the side also gives you an easy way to cover the camera when you don’t need it.
Connectivity is nicely spread around the chassis. The left side offers USB-A alongside Thunderbolt 4 USB-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support, while another USB-A connection and the webcam E-Shutter sit on the right. Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, another USB-A port, and the power connection sit at the rear, helping keep bulkier cables away from your mouse hand.
Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 handle wireless connectivity, while HDMI 2.1 supports external displays up to 4K at 60Hz. Thunderbolt 4 also gives you plenty of flexibility for docks, external storage, and additional displays.
A 60Wh battery lets you work away from the wall, with a 245W adapter included when it’s time to settle in for heavier gaming. Lenovo also includes Legion Space to manage the system and its gaming features, along with a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial.
The Lenovo LOQ 15IPH11 Gaming Laptop feels like a gaming laptop that focuses on what matters most. The Core Ultra 7 356H and RTX 5060 Laptop GPU deliver enough performance to make good use of the 165Hz display, while our Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark testing shows it can maintain consistently smooth frame rates even in more demanding modern titles.
With a practical selection of ports, straightforward performance controls, capable cooling, and an understated design, the Lenovo LOQ 15IPH11 Gaming Laptop offers a well-rounded package for anyone looking for a gaming laptop that can comfortably handle more than just gaming.
