Lenny Kravitz has joined the Barbie universe as the second celebrity to receive the official Kenbassador honour, with Mattel releasing a collectible doll modelled after the Grammy-winning musician.
The new Lenny Kravitz Ken doll features the singer’s signature tattoos, jewellery and physique. The doll is dressed in a slinky tank top and is available from major retailers for $70.
The release coincides with Ken’s 65th anniversary.
Ken made his debut in 1961 and has since become a popular character among Barbie collectors, with Mattel regularly introducing special-edition versions.
Kravitz follows basketball star LeBron James, who became the first celebrity Kenbassador when his collectible doll was released in 2025.
The musician began his recording career with the 1989 album Let Love Rule and has also built an acting career, including appearances in films such as The Hunger Games.
Mattel said his music, personal style and influence on culture contributed to the decision to honour him.
Nathan Baynard, Vice President and Head of Barbie at Mattel, said in a release: “We’re proud to honour his lasting influence on style and culture through this doll, giving fans a new way to celebrate an artist whose authenticity continues to inspire generations.”
Kravitz also addressed the honour, saying: “Barbie is an institution, and as a kid growing up, I could not have imagined this. To be chosen by Mattel as a Kenbassador, only the second one in history, is an honour and absolutely surreal.”
The new doll has already attracted attention from Barbie collectors on social media and is available through major retailers.
