LEGO has started selling its original Sony PlayStation replica early to LEGO Insiders, ahead of the wider release on October 4, 2026.

Set 72306 recreates Sony’s first console at close to 1:1 scale, aimed at adult builders, retro collectors, and PlayStation fans. LEGO has it priced at $179.99 in the US, £139.99 in the UK, and €159.99 in Europe. Early access is available through LEGO Insiders, which is free to join, and LEGO is throwing in a free 276-piece Astro Bot promotional set while supplies last.

The set comes with 1,911 pieces and measures roughly 6 cm tall, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. It also includes a brick-built version of the original PlayStation controller, complete with the lack of analog sticks. LEGO says the model has working Power and Open buttons, a green LEGO element that appears when you press the Power button, hidden interior details under the disc lid, and removable dioramas based on Gran Turismo (1997) and Ape Escape (1999).

If you want something display-friendly that pays tribute to one of gaming’s most recognizable consoles, this is an easy one to like. The price may give some people pause compared with other LEGO gaming sets, and the Ape Escape reference is a little amusing when it’s paired with the pre-analog controller. You can order it now through LEGO Insiders or wait for the broader LEGO release. Astro Bot is also being sold separately through PlayStation Direct for $24.99, according to PlayStation Direct.
