Lauren Bennett, also known for her appearance onLMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” has died, the former girl group shared on July 6. She was 37
“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” G.R.L. wrote on Instagram. “Our hearts are broken and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us.”
“Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,” the statement concluded. “Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”

She pursued a solo career after Paradiso Girls disbanded in 2010 and was featured on LMFAO’s hit 2011 track andCeeLo Green’s “Love Gun” in 2010. Bennett was ultimately recruited for another girl group founded by Antin in 2012: G.R.L. (Girls Rock Life)
G.R.L. broke up in 2014 after memberSimone Battledied by suicide at age 25. The surviving singers reunited months later to release their single “Lighthouse” in honor of Battle before officially disbanding in June 2015.
When Bennett returned to her solo career, she released her 2016 song “Hurricane,” which was also inspired by Battle’s passing

“After G.R.L. ended, I had no idea what was going to happen next, everything fell apart pretty fast,” Bennett wrote on Instagram in 2016. “That’s when this song was written. After seeing my mother suffer with mental struggles for years, I then lost a friend to this.”
“It has always affected my life in some way,” she continued. “We all at least know someone who has dealt with it or have yourself. This is a story to show from my eyes what it feels like to suffer from this but also the other perspective to lose someone to this.”
