In the spirit of an iconic line from Disney World‘s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, actress Lacey Chabert took the “wildest ride in the wilderness” right off her mark upon receiving surprising news about her career intersecting with the most magical place on earth.
The Mean Girlsstar and Christmas movie queen revealed Tuesday during an interview on Live With Kelly and Markthat when she got a phone call informing her that she was cast in Hallmark‘s upcoming Magic Kingdom-set film Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, she took a tumble out of frame while filming another project.
“You guys, I had a dream come true. I got to go to Disney World and make a movie,” Chabert told Mark Consuelos and guest cohost Kevin Jonas during her interview. “When they called and asked me to be a part of it, I was on camera. I fell off camera. I started crying!”
Chabert said she requested to stay “at a Disney property” during production, and ended up living at the Animal Kingdom Lodge while they “filmed at the park for weeks on end,” which she called a “pinch me moment” to experience.
The actress filmed the project with actor Richard Kind, who portrayed her father during production, and former Disney Channel child star Christy Carlson Romano, who made her live-action return to Disney after fronting the company’s beloved sitcom Even Stevens with Shia LaBeouf from 2000-2003 and its animated comedy Kim Possible from 2002-2007.
On Live, Chabert said she has a long history with the Disney parks, and “went to Disneyland first” in California with her family as a child, later visiting Disney World in Florida when she was a 12-year-old child star on Party of Five.
“I said to my mom, ‘I love it so much here,’ because it ended up being a lot of good family memories for me. I was like, ‘I think I’m going to work here one day,'” Chabert remembered, as she became visibly emotional. “So, when I found myself on Main Street filming this movie, it just brought tears to my eyes. Nothing like a childhood dream come true.”
Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True follows Chabert in a love story set at the Magic Kingdom park, which first opened in 1971 after the death of Walt Disney five years prior.
Chabert plays Lindsey, a woman vacationing at Disney World with her family who discovers that a man (Travis Van Winkle) she previously went on a disastrous first date with is staying in the room next to hers.

Hallmark has yet to announce an exact premiere date for Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, but the network has confirmed the movie will debut as part of its annual Countdown to Christmas programming slate this holiday season.
